Same as George. Miami was only 2 weeks ago.
Russell beat Hamilton in 2022, 2024 and 2025 in Miami and was on the podium in 2025. His "bogey" track.

I believe George is better than Leclerc. But it's fair to think Leclerc is better. I just don't think they are analyzed fairly by fans or the media
Hamilton gapped Russell by 15 seconds at Miami in 2024 bud..
I got 2023 and 24 mixed up. Russell gapped Hamilton in all Miami GPs except 2024.

Silence from the " Leclerc is better than George" crowd. Which is the popular narrative. Leclerc can pull disappearing acts and get away with and nobody notices. Because the narrative mob likes him. Same as Piastri.

The only time Hamilton had anything on George was 2023 when he was 3 years younger. And George had only been at the team for one year.
Have you already forgotten Miami? :/

Either way, I always hate these arguments after like ONE weekend. People judging Leclerc vs Russell are likely and reasonably doing so over larger periods of time, not on a per weekend basis. lol
It hasn't been one. Hamilton has been him 3 times now in 2026

As far as the racing goes , the following car has more horsepower. This is balance of performance, the thing everyone says they hate.

Yeah that extra 0.5MJ that following car had kept battling cars close together. It was nigh on impossible to gap someone unless they made a mistake it seemed. Add to that it wasn't quite enough for an overtake either, it probably needs adjusting if they don't change the PU regs next year.

The closeness of the following had very little to do with the overtake mode - the extra 0.5MJ isn't easy to harvest on this energy starved track. The main drivers are the immaturity of the aero regs (22 cars followed well too) and the track conditions at Montreal. The anomalously cold track temps meant the lead car struggled to keep the tires in the window as they cooled too much in the clean air while the chasing car found it easier to keep its tires in the window in the wake of the car in front. The dirty air problem will get worse just like it did the last ruleset and the track conditions are very much a rarity outside of maybe Vegas.

You forgot to mention that in 2022 Russell was 4 tenths off Ham in qualifying and knocked out of q2. A lucky safety car put him behind hamilton on fresh mediums

Anyone else seen the video of George and Max behind the saftey car doing the rounds. I must have missed it during the race.
Russell purposely slams the brakes on after seeing Max close by in his mirror Max obviously almost overtakes because of George hitting the brakes so hard and then he's straight on the radio crying that Max overtook under the safety car xD
Didn't work though because Max was straight back on the radio saying George braked hard on purpose. Seriously going off cry baby George tbh, that was a dick move, that he'd be the first to call 'dangerous' or 'dirty if the roles were reversed
