Cookie/advertising choice pop up

Post

I've noticed that on the regular pop up that asks to confirm cookie/advertising choices, the one for the betting advertising (it's in Dutch, I think, so it's my understanding of the translation that it's betting-related) often resets itself to on (green) i.e. allow betting-related stuff, even when it's previously been set to off (red).

Is this a deliberate ploy?

So can we take it that it's a deliberate play to continue to try to push betting adverts/cookies? Bad show, in my opinion. Betting causes a lot of social problems.

chrisc90 - quite so.

If people are happy to receive such things then fine, but once selected as "no" then it should be remembered as such. I've noticed that each time the cookie/advertising thing pops up, the betting thing is automatically back to green so it's resetting to allow these things even though I've already said no each previous time it's asked.

Maybe this is outside of the forum's control, but if so it's not a good look for the forum. Plenty of sportsmen have been damaged by betting addiction and it's a big problem in society in general. So actively helping to promote it is "bad optics".

It’s the popups that automatically take you to a completely different page without doing anything that annoys me.

Not too bad mention they still take up majority of screen space but they been doing that the last year and a half and I’ve mentioned it previously but nothing changes. Makes for a poor forum navigational experience dancing around intrusive ads.

Just clicked the tick at the bottom of the page and there’s nearly a whopping 2000 (1987) vendors for ads. Wow.

Um, at a rough guess most of us don't see these ads. I don't.

I don't see anything of that. No problem at all.
