This season is set to definitively bury the discussion about Leclerc being a WC contender. Leclerc is a good driver, nothing more. He will never be champion and was never destined to be. With him easily succumbing to pressure, seeing Hamilton consistently ahead of him, he's likely to enter a downward spiral, trying his best to be ahead of Lewis and making mistake after mistake.

The good thing for Ferrari this season is that Hamilton is back to his prime, achieving good results, keeping the car clear of the barriers and getting good results. If Leclerc continues with this nonsense and throwing away important points, he'll have to sit down for an uncomfortable conversation.
Charles crashes out today and suddenly Hamilton fans is quick to jump in and praise Hamilton while putting Charles down!

The definition of outperforming someone is being quicker overall in races and in qualifying. If Leclerc is hitting the wall that still does not mean Hamilton has outperformed him on performance at all.

Without problems with brakes Leclerc would be leading Hamilton by quite big margin by now, so clearly the talk about Hamilton already outperforming Charles is trolling big time.
Being faster is worth absolutely nothing if you keep crashing out.

What was the wind like in T4 at the time of Charles crash? Wind down in T4 has been an issue before. Maybe a strong gust put him into the moment?

Mate, not helpful to look for excuses right now. Leclerc has to sort his mind out now tbh

The definition of outperform is finishing the session ahead of the other driver, not imagining a hypothetical scenario of whether Charles would be ahead if he hadn't crashed.

The championship isn't defined by hypothetical scenarios. For Charles to outperform Lewis, first of all he needs to finish the session, not crash trying to be better than him. Nobody analyzes to determine who is the best driver based on hypotheses or how fast they were going before crashing.

I feel Leclerc's fans are experts at imagining hypothetical scenarios where their favorite driver would be a multi-champion if it weren't for a thousand variables, none of which are directly his fault. It's no coincidence people make memes of Leclerc on social media as "Meet the Potential Driver".

To be it seems like Hamilton fans are just happy to see him performing well again after not getting on with the cars for a few years.

Charles can be fast over a single lap and even at times in the races, but has a horrible win and pole conversion rate. His number of mistakes are unacceptable too.

177 starts, 27 poles and only 8 wins. There is strong evidence to suggest he is not WDC material.

You're doing the same thing you've accused some of doing. I'm not even sure Leclerc is faster than Hamilton in this formula and with this car.
One garage is biased towards heroics, the other, skill. The former works sometimes, but against a garage who are maximizing skill + operations, what do you do? More heroics? Well, we're seeing the results (2xcrashes in Monaco & 1 in Spain) By the way, when was the last there was a crash in turn 4? You have to be doing something very unconventional.

Let's review race results:
  • Australia: Hamilton had much better pace.
  • China: Hamilton had better pace.
  • Japan: Leclerc had much better pace, particularly on the straights. Take it for what it's worth.
  • Miami: Leclerc had much better pace but then dropped it. Had Hamilton not had damage from Colapinto, he'd have had an even better result differential.
  • Canada: Hamilton had much, much better pace.
  • Monaco: Only qualifying matters; Hamilton was faster. I contend that Leclerc's knife's edge effort was the only reason
for the fastest Q1, but he was likely to bin and he did.
  • Spain: He binned it again while Hamilton was on course to set a purple in sector 1.

Charles said it was on him, said he pushed too hard because of confidence

I like how they keep saying Hamilton was not as fast as Leclerc, but fail to mention Hamilton not only keeps it on the track but missed an entire practice session which makes a huge difference.
It seems FP1 missing meant next to nothing. Norris and Hulk were quicker than their team mates the whole weekend, despite missing FP1. I think Hadjar also lost it and he was fine, eventhough Max´s seemed to have screwed his last sector on the final lap.
IIRC, Leclerc was like 1 tenth faster on Q2 but that means nothing for Q3, the reality is that he oversteered and didn´t lift off

I´m curious to see Ferrari´s pace on the race. I wouldn´t be surprised if Mclaren and Verstappen leapfrog Hamilton

Crashing into a wall due to technical problems (3 out of 4 brakes weren’t working in Monaco) versus a mistake of your own – can you see the difference?

Todays crash is on him, Im pissed too, cause it was a free pole for Charles, but comparing today’s crash with what happened in Canada and Monaco (technical failure) is just trolling.

Calling that a free pole for Charles is like calling roulette a free double up  He gambles in Q3, sometimes it makes him look quick and sometimes it makes him look foolish.

Could it be that Ferrari are now unleashing its full power, when they got the ADUO outcome they desired to get? I cannot believe this car to be is so fast on the straight(and THE fastest through corners) lacking 25hp.

I don't get the free pole for Charles talk? I mean, I like Charles but when since he has the God-given right to pole positions? Especially in this competitive environment that we are in and also the return to form of Lewis Hamilton?
