Start procedure 2026

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Start procedure 2026

Post

During the spanish gp weekend I saw a race start onboard with telemetry from Russel. The batterie is charging during the high rev period in the last seconds before the start. This means it is kind of a gamble to reach a as full as possible batterie when the lights go out. This is pobably the reason for the very bad starts that happens sometimes in the field.

What do you mean? The battery can’t even be used below 50 km/h, so the start itself is all ICE and has nothing to do with the battery.

I find it again (end of FP2). While the car stand still, the MGUK load the batterie. When the car begin to role, the MGUK is instantly at 0. Looks like it is only to preload the ICE to reach a high turbo pressure? But if the batterie is maybe 3 sec before lights out full, it must have a influence on the ICE performance.
