These vanes appear to better control the air flowing transversely. My CFD eyes aren't working today so I can't really if it's flowing inboard or outboard.

Isn’t the undercut bigger now which likely was the primary goal of the sidepod redesign?

Undercut is more or less the same size
FIA upgrade note says that the shoulder was made bigger to influence the front wheel wake.

Remember the lesson all the teams learned in 2022 that sometimes a big tall side pod shoulder is needed to calm down the wheel wake? Yeah. Same thing here.

Big drag reduction from this update. I think the new FW endplate furniture is having a relatively big impact by better management of front wheel aero.

I was hoping for this too.
All the winglets and small wing diffusor were working on redirecting airflow from the tire, hence less drag.
I do not even know what could have been the idea behind not having them, in the first place?
Add to that, if the airflow is better managed around the front tire, all the rest of the car can have cleaner air imho.

I wondered this too, as they had perhaps the simplest design in the field. Perhaps they wanted to make sure whole-body aero was balanced and predictable before changing things on the periphery. I've noticed that Ferrari seem to be more conservative with frequency of front-wing changes than some of their competitors.

I'm a bit surprised they chose to have those fins inwashing, instead of outwashing.

Air naturally tends to inwash due to Front Wing suction and Front Wheels pressure. Those strakes actually decrease the inwash. If air inwashes at 20°, those strakes are placed at roughly 15°.
