1 - A loaded wing means even more suction, underneath. The air gets sucked inward under the footplate.christian.falavena wrote: ↑16 Jun 2026, 11:20Not sure. Ferrari is one of the joy team to have a front wing loaded in the external part with the flaps. So the underside of the flaps tend to outwash the air. Combining the effect of the strakes (which are inwashing) think they want to generate a vortex. That vortex maybe is handled by the revised sidepods, that in the underside can welcome a different flow topology
But that’s only my opinion![]()

2 - The strakes are outwashing relative to the airflow. Of course they tend inwards relative to the car center line, but it's the airflow direction that matters. In other words, thanks to those strakes, air inwashes less.
I think so, reducing airflow separation and turbulence at the floor's leading edge would definitely be a good thing. McLaren seem to be following Ferrari in this. OTOH Red Bull and Audi in particular have much more sculpted claws that will turn the airflow much harder, so two different philosophies in this area seem to be emerging.bananapeel23 wrote: ↑16 Jun 2026, 08:07I’m so curious how those two layer daggers work. Is it just like a multi-element wing in that it can get better airflow attachment with a higher AOA by stacking elements?

Is the Monaco wheel the previous spec and used at all previous races? Trying to figure out if the Barcelona spec is more a circuit type of upgrade to be used at faster tracks.Luscion wrote: ↑17 Jun 2026, 06:20Autoracer showed the difference in the wheel rims between Monaco & Barcelona

The Barcelona spec (image Brahmal posted above) does look different to what theyve ran at previous circuits imo. these are the best images i could find of it, left is China, right is Australia to compare it to the image Brahmal posted above. From the way AR and The-Race are talking about it, it doesnt seem like its just a circuit specific upgrade as the fia doesnt allow them to bring rims for specific circuits.Waz wrote: ↑17 Jun 2026, 10:21Is the Monaco wheel the previous spec and used at all previous races? I’ve always wondered how long the second layer of the daggers was. I had no clue it stretches all the way down. It must surely work like a two element wing.SilviuAgo wrote: ↑17 Jun 2026, 18:30Looking back at #FerrariF1's massive update from the last BarcelonaGP!Here is a closer look at the redesigned front floor leading edge profiles and claws, showing some clear changes (
