ADUO in its current state is a total sham, Binotto also said the Merc was strongest and there was gamesmanship to get ADUO.
If they were going for the offset to try the new mediums I might have understood but to go on the hards and not that big a difference in laps seemed a bit poor. She is normally pretty good with the calls but today was an error.
Kimi was closing behind on both the second and third stints, the mediums would've been high risk with that many laps to go. Remember Max needed to push the entire final part of the race and have enough tires to try to overtake at the end. What you guys call "bad strategy" was simply a consequence of the circumstances and missing a little bit of performance and tyre life relative to Merc.
