Strange choice for M2B, to display the car with the number 20. Why not choosing #14?

Image

As Gemini saying:
Bruce McLaren Motor Racing entered the revolutionary McLaren M2B in four championship races that year (1966), using the following numbers:
#2 – Monaco Grand Prix: The historic F1 debut for the McLaren team. Bruce drove the #2 Ford-powered M2B, qualifying 10th but retiring early on lap 9 with an oil leak.
#14 – British Grand Prix (Brands Hatch): Bruce ran #14 with a Serenissima V8 engine, finishing a reliable 6th and scoring the McLaren team's very first World Championship point.
#20 – Dutch Grand Prix (Zandvoort): Assigned to Bruce for the weekend. The car suffered engine trouble during practice, resulting in a Did Not Start (DNS).
#17 – United States Grand Prix (Watkins Glen): Bruce returned to the #17 Ford-powered car, driving an excellent race to finish 5th and collect 2 more points.
#14 – Mexican Grand Prix: For the final race of the season, Bruce ran #14 again, unfortunately retiring with an engine failure.
In total, McLaren cars officially carried 2, 14, 17, and 20 on Grand Prix weekends during their inaugural 1966 season.

No timeframe was mentioned but Stella has listed what is coming in the pipeline:

“We are completely focused in making sure that from a technical point of view, we are in a condition to create the aerodynamic upgrades, mechanical upgrades, some stuff also coming on tyre conditioning, such that we can make the MCL40 faster.”

Interesting choice to run it considering that will be only one FP due to sprint weekend schedule.

I assume that the second actuator arm hasn't been attached yet to the flap's top edge.

Agreed. 1000th AND 60 years since their first GP which was at Monaco.

Can't wait to see it in person on track here in Silverstone though!!

Zak just mentioned that they have exciting upgrades coming in tbe next 2 races and that after the summer break they hope to be back to winning ways.

But said with a confidence and belief that we will soon challenge for wins.

Car looks horrible to drive. No time to fix before the weekend gets going, so could be a painful one.

He had damage in first two parts of quali, front break duct flew off. They fixed it for SQ3 and boom.

Btw so frustrating to end up P6 and P7 with these minimal gaps to P3.

Zak talked to the F1TV guys during the sprint quali and he once again mentioned new upgrades in following races, he is really hyping them up. Sounds like they expect a lot. Very encouraging if it works!
