Really interesting how Antonelli doesn't use 8th gear at all, while Lewis spends like 1/2 the lap in it. This chart doesn't show braking, but Lewis doesn't touch them between turn 7 to 15 while Antonelli does brake at 13. I suppose with minimal braking and enough downforce to deal with it, they can roll more pace through the corner, minimising the amount of deployment needed?

I think Ferrari need to act decisively and have Leclerc as a number 2, helping to support the much needed WDC for the team.

If they leave it until later in the season it will be too late. It needs to be now while Mercedes are infighting.

I think Charles is driving against an elite driver now and needs to re-center himself. I think Charles can be elite. He has the speed. This is him now needing to face that dragon. Hope he finds what he needs and get back level before Ferrari makes that call.

Some are saying the lower atmospheric pressure of Austria hid the engines true gains and it's coming to show itself at Silverstone now. Could be true... Maybe the engine tuning wasn't finished for Austira and they ran it conservatively.

Lewis is known to be a mega quantity here. I think there's more time to unlock with the Mercs as Lewis qualified only a 100th ahead of Antonelli. No disrespect to Antonelli, rather, I'm saying he's yet to peak.

In summary, I'm very weary of the Mercs as the weekend unfolds.

Hmm. This is sort of a damage limitation track for this year's car. So even a podium would be fantastic.

Mercedes traction and acceleration is still monstrous. Antonelli gains time accelerating right throughout the chart. And at higher speeds he is also gaining time too. The miracle is that Ferrari is able to hang on enough on tthe straights and make up speed in the corners.

Chart imples that raw ICE power i think they are still down, but are able to cut drag better later down the straights.

Nothing to be done in defense against the Mercedes engine once the recharge limit is upped. Gonna need a pot of luck to be able to beat that on Sunday.

The 8.5 in the race compared to the 6.5 in qually, is a big difference.

That's the least of their problems because Mercedes have yet to bring a proper substantial upgrade package. But that's coming in Spa or Hungary.
