I can’t see a jump big enough to switch things around, we are talking about 4 seconds
If they even improve 2s they are in sq2 but that’s basically it I’m not that optimists
Wow, this isn't just faith anymore, it's a bit... Don't even know what to call it.etusch wrote: ↑03 Jul 2026, 09:08Great news. Knowing both about the performance increase and when it will arrive... If they figure out how to operate with this fuel, I think it won't take them long to close the gap and then becoming best or one of them.Petebass wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026, 12:45New motor for Zandvoort.

“Also for my future, I will make a decision in the summer break, and it will help to gain a little bit of confidence and momentum into the comeback of the team from the bottom to the top, hopefully with this first package.”
Pushed on whether the updates will be decisive in that decision on his future, Alonso responded: “It will not be just that. I think it's a combination of things. Also how the sport is and, as I said, the next two races are going to be tough in terms of energy management and [whether it is] fun to drive, so that also has to be in the equation.
“It's not only the chassis – we also need to see some progress on the engine side as well that we plan for in the next few races.
“I feel good with the team, I know everyone is working flat-out and I feel confident but, at the end of the day, I need to think as well with myself what I do next year. It will not only be how fast we are in Hungary, there are more things on the table.”

I guess even if he decides to quit during the summer break, other drivers could wait and see if the engine improves alot after that before deciding to call Lawrence. Honda might want to get Tsunoda in there and even pay to do so?
In my opinion they need someone with experience to develop the car together with Newey. Is a Vettel comeback completely off the table?
