Terrible result. The race in itself was disappointing with a subpar pace but could have turned into a podium by a well time VSC pitstop, but then it happenned.
All the optimism after RB ring is immediately gone and now seeing how Max hate this car, it's extremely doubtful something can be salvaged this season. This update was the last joker to try having a Mclaren moment and turn the season. But it's still slow and now create crashes.
Very sad.
Even Toto saw what happened at the Red Bull Ring for what it was. In short: it was all Max. He’d been winning there long before 2021 in a vastly inferior car. His teammates, meanwhile, couldn’t even get on the podium.
Looking at Norris pace during Sprint and also the pace he was maintaining in super old medium on the first stint during the race — I think he underdrove that car massively there, I’d say Mclaren was the faster car this weekend.
