Gutted for Kimi. He was outstanding all weekend. Ugh, so frustrating. He would've won that for sure.

Right now he's head and shoulders above Mr. Mediocrity on the other side of the garage. And please, spare me the bad luck stories and endless excuses. That only gets you so far. We're well past the point where getting embarrassed by a teenager every weekend needs another explanation.
Lots of weekends left for Kimi to keep dunking on Mr. Mediocrity no? If he’s head and shoulders above him, he should wrap this championship fight pretty quickly!

Not if he keeps damaging his car like he did in Spain and here in Silverstone. He destroyed his own race today.

Echo your sentiment.
I mentioned this many many races ago, there is a 'talent gap'. It's undeniable.

Kimi has a serious advantage over Russel as he didn't feature in the GE era for long. The current regs are more inclined to Kart racing for being nimble.

Russell badly needs the Spa update to restore the gap to Ferrari he had earlier in the season and solidify 2nd in the championship, because a Mercedes that's only a couple of tenths quicker isn't enough to keep Hamilton behind him the way he's currently performing

Mercedes need to seriously address the reliability.

They either win, podium, or DNF. Thrown away heaps and heaps of points.

Not sure Kimi's issue was reliability. I suspect his car was damaged because as he's done all year, he rides his car over the kerbs a lot more aggressively than others. He broke his car riding the car over the larger green and white serrated kerbs beyond the red and white kerb on the outside of Copse.

Toto is a liar. Here are a handful of laps from George and Kimi. It's obvious, George was driving a different car. There was so much of speed delta on the straits. To compensate, George was trying to carry so much speed through corners. He was the faster driver consistently through the corners.

It might be different deployment strategies

Are these laps in clean air with similar tyres? If someone is slipstreaming behind a fast car he'd have higher top speed.

Agreed, Kimi maybe has to improve on that side. From his onboard footages, he used to ride all kerbs including inboard ones where it might not be necessary

The gaps are too far off between the 2 Mercs. There is references to battery issues throughout the weekend for Russell, but this isn't the first time this season that there have been discrepancies. The 2 by 2 nature of the Silverstone track was evident for all team mates having similar values to the other in terms of top speed and speed across the start finish line. The only standout was Russell. A very peculiar situation which is going to be a breeding ground for conspiracy.
