'Verstappen will fly to Red Bull factory tomorrow'

Published on 06 Jul 2026 20:29 1 By: Bob Plaizier

Max Verstappen appears to be leaving for the Red Bull plant in Milton Keynes tomorrow. Verstappen has had a very frustrating racing weekend in Silverstone, and that has caused many additional rumours about his future. Those stories do not seem to disappear, and the question is what he will do in England tomorrow.

GPToday.net has understood that Verstappen's jet will fly to Cranfield tomorrow. It is expected that Verstappen's private jet will depart from Nice airport around 08:00, and then set course for Cranfield. This British airport is located right next to Milton Keynes, where the Red Bull factory is located.
.
The visit to the RBR factory today has been cancelled. No new date has been announced yet.
.
Max is on his way to MK. He departed at 09:30 CET. Not on Thursday as usual. Probably because his sister's wedding is this week.

It's not about braking too late or manually closing it. The wing just can't close fully no matter what. It is a design issue.

I understand the direction of rotation is opposite to Ferrari. Does it matter that the wing flap is at extreme angle of attack and stalled until it is fully closed and that there is (apparently) therefore no failsafe self-closing torque, or is this fan theory debunked?

As a safety measure it would seem logical to run the earlier wing instead.

Also would Hadjar+Linblad or Hadjar+Piastri be the superior RBR lineup for 2027?

...assuming the Dutch ace has no reason to persist with the increasingly corporate Austrian racing squad, having seemingly lost its Horner-era garagista autonomy!

Alledged comments from the Austrian board, leaked by Dutch factions, would presumably be VERY offensive to the Verstappens! [Regarding lack of loyalty (cough Lawson, Gaslt, Albon, Tsunoda), untenably high salary, lack of media days by Max, the Red Bull-agreed October exit clause now bizarrely being untenable (despite no such early release for Perez or Tsunoda etc).]

At what point does RBR move GP out of his current duties to shield from sensitive information he could take to McLaren, regardless of whether Max wants a new race engineer or not? Hearing GP's already being shut out of some info, which is problematic for Max anyway.
That sounds like a surefire way to get Max to also leave!

Is it fair to say the Austrian board is not terribly bothered about losing the (excessively?) expensive Dutchman s services, perhaps due to the board’s limited understanding of motor racing? :)

This board seems to be highly incompetent in F1. They got rid of Horner, Marko, several Horner loyalists, and now they're surprised things are not going well.

Pierre Waché on British Grand Prix

"In the race, we weren't able to completely solve our balance problem, and that compromised our pace. The wind also caused us problems, and there are things we need to look at in that area.

It's a shame about the rear wing issue, because the podium was within reach. We were slower than Ferrari.

Isack did a good job. He was able to make progress during the race and finished where he belonged (P5), on the pace of the McLarens."

Pierre Waché on the development of the RB22 and the 2027 car

"The main problem when it comes to development remains production and research capacity. The 2027 car will begin development very soon and, inevitably, that will lead to compromises in terms of production."

Waché on ADUO results

"I don't believe we have the best internal combustion engine; at best, it's on par with the others. If there is any advantage, it would be in cooling and energy integration, which isn't taken into account.
In fact, it has more of an impact on how we use the car. The more power we have, the more we can develop the car with lower efficiency levels. With the same amount of fuel injected, we have more power."

Waché highlighted the importance of Max Verstappen's contribution to the development of the RB22

"He points out things that affect him more than we can imagine. In our simulations, there are things we don't see as a major problem, but they are for him.

There are things he feels through the steering wheel that we can't detect in the simulator, where the car's potential is exactly the same.

Max isn't frustrated by not winning. What's important is that he's convinced we can give him a car capable of winning. That's the case."

Waché on significant impact of the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine on the budget cap!

"The increase in the cost of the materials we use has been very significant over the past few months and difficult to anticipate. The conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine have driven up the prices of certain materials used in the manufacture of weapons. Inflation on those products has exceeded 200%."
