It's maths without numbers, since we don't know any of them.
However wheel balancing doesn't seem to be relevant, or even similar. The chassis doesn't spin. The crankshaft and the rotor of the MGU does, and if adding or removing a bit of weight to them, they would have done that ages ago.
Yeah we just have that they're 15Kg overweight now vs being at the limit in Hungry.

They have said that the final vibration fixes, are supposed to be a change in the ICE mounts, come with the new ICE. So maybe additional weight saving in Netherlands?
Did they say that about the engine mounting? I only read it on this forum.
I didn't hear about the 15kg being specified either.
I think it was Newey that said the 15KG overweight. I don't remember who said the thing about tge ICE mounts. Might have been Wazari.

Adrian implied that some of the measures taken to mitigate the vibrations added to the weight but the car overall was overweight anyway. Direct quote is:

"On the chassis side, we're quite a long way overweight. Some of that comes from integrating the power unit and dealing with vibration issues we've had to work through with Honda, but we also didn't do as good a job as we should have on our side at saving weight. When you design in a rush, weight is the first thing that suffers because you don't have the time to thoroughly optimise everything.

the power unit is also heavy. no idea by how much, or how much the upgraded one will shed. but im sure thats something theyll be working on. theyre still sitting on preseason weight and performance basically. we can look back over the last 3 years and say its just more of the same, except, its a completely different factory, wind tunnel and sims. run by one of the greatest car designers ever. you can just expect that they are gonna be doomed to lower midfield forever because they are cursed, or you can expect that things are going to turn around. theyve done pretty much everything a team could do to become competitive, it is just taking some time to take that step. hopefully these first upgrades are where that starts.

Why does it seem that so many people are overlooking that this car hasn't had any performance upgrades at all?

There's a lot of low hanging fruit, and a big upgrade package combined with an increase in power can leap frog them into the top 10.

That would do wonders for the moral of the team so it's absolutely worth pursuing. Besides, the chassis regulations carry over, and running the same car all season will teach them nothing eventually.
Field spread is very high at the moment.

Top 10 would require 2s/lap wouldn't it?

Is that feasible?

Sometimes I really think, that some guys from social media could build a better car or engine as a whole package, than they do!
Obviously a conservative chassis with Mercedes engine would perform better than the current car, but the comments above seem hyperbolic!

Well it looks like they have a car back in Sakura, no doubt probably to test the new PU mounted up and running in the car. Which is good news.

Very low resolution, but that looks like a FIA show car, not the real AMR26.
No louvres or opening on the side of the engine cover, no far rear front wishbone, basic barge board, flatter side pod with aramco logo, small front wing winglet like the show car. Etc.

Show car from the livery launch for comparison:

This is just a Honda showcar which is the exact same car shown in the Honda Racing Booth at Suzuka. Everything is non functional.

Lol, maybe an AI image? I've never seen a transport trailer with clear sides like that.

That is one of the showcars, I believe one of at least six in existence.
The chassis are named "chassis no: AMR26-R06" with the sixth one at Honda HQ in Torrance.

You're absolutely right. It's a show car.
Overly presumptuous of me because it was the official Japanese Honda account on insta and the mention of HRC Sakura.

My apologies!

I saw some 'hopefully fake' rumours of Cowell leaving at the end of the year. I really hope this is just standard fabricated drivel from X rather than the truth.

Makes sense for a show-car.

He used to be team principal. Then demoted to be some sort of liaison. It's a surprise he's still here. (The money is probably really good.)

I've seen a few socials posting a quote from Mohamed Ben Sulayem via ESPN where he said the following about Christian Horner.

"He will return. It's not up to me to say where, even though I know. It's up to him to say it"

I mean... where else is he gonna go other than Aston. Think it's a done deal.

Worst F1 car of 21st century? Doing full lock in fast corners is something I have never seen before.
