The race should have been started at least thirty minutes before it eventually did. F1 has always been a series that races in the wet. The cars and circuits (including Spa) are the safest they have ever been, it's quite sad the direction in which they are taking the sport. Let's hope the right decisions are made this weekend if it rains.
Friday afternoon may be wet as there will be a shift form hot to much colder weather in the Benelux region. Most of the time that gives some thunderstroms. From saterday, colder, but dry and stable weather.erudite450 wrote: ↑13 Jul 2026, 13:48I still maintain that the decisions made by the race director on grand prix Sunday regarding the weather were too too cautious. I agree. It was quite disappointing hearing Norris campaigning for the safety car to stay out.De Wet wrote: ↑13 Jul 2026, 14:24erudite450 wrote: ↑13 Jul 2026, 13:48I still maintain that the decisions made by the race director on grand prix Sunday regarding the weather were too too cautious. The drivers are just as bad these days.
Contrary to what some people say about the impact of present regulations on Qualifying, I don't think a lot has changed, just maybe a slightly different challenge. On that note, Pouhon which will be grip limited should be a challenge on these cars.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑14 Jul 2026, 18:24Interested to see how fast these cars are through Pouhon. Eau Rouge / Raidillon is the famous "OMG!" corner challenge but Pouhon is likely to be a place where time can be found with these cars. Still amazed by the onboard of the W11 going through Pouhon absolutely flat - will we see anything close this year?
Yes, they will be absolutely flat through there at 20-30 kph slower than W11 XDJust_a_fan wrote: ↑14 Jul 2026, 18:24Interested to see how fast these cars are through Pouhon. According to the teams and drivers, the cars won't have any battery power in S2 (i.e half power). Therefore being flat through Pouhon will be easy. They either drive with half the power or car is programmed to superclip so driver doesn't have to brake. There will be absolutely nothing comparable to the W11 which arrived at Pouhon with 1000+hp and no automatic braking (superclipping).Just_a_fan wrote: ↑14 Jul 2026, 18:24Interested to see how fast these cars are through Pouhon. Pouhon seems like a perfect spot to recharge and go through flat. Charge up for the second "straight".AR3-GP wrote: ↑15 Jul 2026, 01:54According to the teams and drivers, the cars won't have any battery power in S2 (i.e half power).
