Red Bull RB22

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Only issue I see with that is that S2 would be a recharging sector, so being in theory able to go faster may not pay...
According to Stella, he sees a strong correlation between the fastest cars (Mercedes/Ferrari) and downforce. Simply put he said the fastest cars have the most downforce.
That is a very general statement. And it is true in general, with the caveat of being able to generate that downforce efficiently, but there is also so much more than that!
My point is that in this (unfortunate) era, and in a track like Spa, S2 may be raced at a slower pace because of energy recovering. So having more downforce in those corners may not be that useful, since they may take them at a lower speed to recover more energy.
