The Macarena is expected to return for Hungary:
Speaking at Spa-Francorchamps on Friday, Red Bull technical director Pierre Wache said that the issues had been traced back to a mechanical problem with its wing design.

Work was now ongoing at its Milton Keynes factory to implement solutions that would ensure no repeat trouble in the future, with hopes high that the revamped design would be ready for next weekend’s race at the Hungaroring.

Red Bull have a heavy penalty at Spa without that wing. They are the slowest car on the straights. They won't be competitive.

Subtle differences in deployment strategy between Q sim (S) and R sim (M) :

https://ibb.co/rfHpnhbn

My inference is that either ANT is sandbagging the R run or VER is sandbagging the Q run or both.
Or Merc power unit needs to be investigated of where the additional energy is being stored.

They sacrificed they strenght in S2 after FP1 to be more competitive in S1 and S3.
Quite close despite running wide in S2 and the old wing...

Things that make you go hmmm....

But what's the reason? They're not getting ADUO so it doesn't make sense to wait for a new spec. Meanwhile Hadjar is eating through his allocation like crazy.

Are "Reliability Upgrades" still a thing this year? They obviously need one (Apparently)

Macarena wing would have helped a lot this weekend, the car looks competitive in the corners in fp3, we'll have to see if that lasts for qualifying.

Still not enough pace to compete for pole, ANT, NOR look consistently faster, RUS will be there if he puts a lap together. Might have enough to be Ferrari this week, who seem to be struggling a bit so far. I'll say a P4 for Max seems about right for qualy.

Agree. The FP3 time is misleading, there is atleast 0.25 of 'tow time' present there, both from Kemmel straight (tow from LeClerc) and from Blanchimont (tow from Bottas). Realistically the 'deficit' to the top guys (ANT, NOR) is around 3 tenths. P4 would be great.

They can and should use Hadjar with his +30 grid penalty for a nice tow in Q3

Nice tow from Hadjar there, just a tenth off Antonelli

Still lack too much on the Kemmel but P2 or 3 would be fine

The last tow seemed a bit messy, was into the gearbox of Hadjar, but I don't think Kimi was beatable today anyway so good effort.

That rear wing is killing them here. It is what it is. Merc/Mclaren have low downforce wings and Ferrari has macarena. Red Bull is using their medium/high load wing. It just consumes too much energy around the lap.

The Mercedes just keeps going, it's a joke that the PU is getting ADUO. Max will be getting eaten by the cars behind him tomorrow, won't be a pretty race I reckon.

Also, shows the ground RBR have to make up, the Mercedes matched them in sector 2 while running less wing and destroyed them in the other 2, I know RBR were missing the macarena wing but still, these deployment heavy tracks are showing a clear gulf between the PUs.

I mean they expected to suffer here but the next two weekend could really give them a chance, depending on what Mclaren and Mercedes deliver
