Not sure what would you do? They knew it will be hard to claw back the positions if they pit so they went longer hoping for a SC/VSC or a red flag. It didn't work out. It happens.

Yeah, slow stop was bad but at least it wasn't for a victory. I'm sure they will work on it.

Strategy wise it was fine just unlucky with the VSC. Hard to gain a lot of places against cars of similar pace and unlucky with strategy.

Yep, the stop was the issue. Though stick 5 seconds on and hes next to Oscar anyway.

Stopping earlier would have minimize the issue at the pit stop. Compounding errors. At least the car looked fast today.

So Hadjar was in the last place and finished ahead of Lando.

Why are people talking like McLaren had no choice. This race has an 80% chance of a safety car (according to commentary) and even higher with the extra issues these new cars have. Knowing that he would have been better starting on softs or mediums.

Why start on hards on a track with an almost guaranteed early safety car?

Without the pitsop issue and pitting 3 laps sooner lando would have been in the fight for p3

Also add in that all the others pretty much saved 10 seconds on a pit stop, landos pace was good enough for 4th. Brilliant drive just didnt get the rub of the green.

Very frustrating. Lando had some pace there. Oscar probably did too if he wasn’t on the wrong side of Leclerc forgetting to remember to turn right into a right hander.

Race execution poor again.

Lando arguably the second quickest package this weekend finished behind Hadjar who started the race at the back of the grid.
