They will need a lot of seconds, but we know the first seconds are the easiest.
This mean, they think the Honda can recover something like 70hp ? Sounds ambitious

I only ever heard about a "rear monocoque" here though.diffuser wrote: ↑21 Jul 2026, 19:04I like that description.Farnborough wrote: ↑21 Jul 2026, 17:29The monocoque front section is accompanied by the rear monocoque (that is being described as "gearbox" ) with the two being rigidly mounted to each other via PU and its rules regulated bolt/pickup points to form one whole "chassis" of which the only noted change, from AN, is the minor shift of some rear suspension location. Ostensibly the same as now used effectively, with no fundamental or radical redesign.
The Transmission, from PU to differential, is located inside that rear structure, entirely.
Aero schema is what "clothes" that structural assembly listed above. This appears to involve most changes, from team comment, so far.
Ford did make EVs, right? It's supposed to be a technological partnership between them.diffuser wrote: ↑21 Jul 2026, 20:40Not sure what's so insane with that? The PU overall performance is stemming from programming. Programming is constantly evolving, it can be changed at all times except between qualifying and race. I would not expect and efficiency issues with the MGU-K. OK, unlike Merc, Audi and Honda who have EV teams that make electric motors for EVs that those respective teams can ask, RBPT do not.

That sounds like the re-imagining of the PU coming with MGU-K along side the ICE and Newey asking to have put in the front. That and asking for the batteries to be stacked. Same story different way of saying it.jacme22 wrote: ↑22 Jul 2026, 23:00DAZN collaborator Roldán Rodriguez said this on his channel.
Nevertheless, I wouldn't be surprised if Honda designed an engine, Newey came aboard and change the requirements and Honda could not adapt fast enough. It seem to me that AM is focused on putting all the blame on Honda when they built a sub average car.
Yeah, as there is ZERO way they brought an engine that "didn't fit"diffuser wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026, 00:00That sounds like the re-imagining of the PU coming with MGU-K along side the ICE and Newey asking to have put in the front. Agreed. It is worth noting again, Koji Watanabe made it a point to say this years PU has almost identical vibration signatures and magnitude as the 2025 PU and it was no issue with Red Bull. So it is obvious this car is just completely underbaked with horrid integration.diffuser wrote: ↑22 Jul 2026, 19:24There are no vibration now. So why would there be in the future?f1Follower wrote: ↑22 Jul 2026, 18:49Just a thought but if Honda engine is same as earlier no ADUO changes applied and with the new gear box and chassis there are no vibrations then it can be concluded that Honda is underpowered but the gearbox or another component was responsible for vibrations?
You need to look at this in a different light. Vibrations are just a normal thing for ICEs. They all vibrate. Teams just a have time to do away with them, tune them out. When I say teams, I mean teams like AMR/Honda teams. In this case both the ICE and the chassis was so behind schedule that they didn't have time to resolve them. So the vibrations are from AMR and Honda doing a piss poor job of integration. Leave it at that.
Newey was extremely clear that they didn't do a good job on the chassis/aero side as well for multiple reasons.jacme22 wrote: ↑22 Jul 2026, 23:00DAZN collaborator Roldán Rodriguez said this on his channel.
