Will they do a compare with the old car ?

It sounds like they will be short on parts and if they crash in FP or qualifying, it could be an issue. Perhaps they should have waited until after the summer break to make sure they had enough parts built. Let’s see if they can catch Cadillac this weekend, which is all I think is reasonable to expect, without another 50hp from the Honda motor as yet. After the summer break, with a revised engine and the chassis and aero actually working, they might be able to catch the Haas/Willams cars.

Why? It is not like they throw away potential point because they don't drive the old car. They need every minute of data they can on the new package. Running again with the old car is the most useless thing they could do at this time.

Hm. They might end up like Williams not long ago, when only one car was able to race. Unless they bring the old spec car with all the parts as well, which seems unreasonable.

Probably it makes no sense to wait any longer, it looks like they strategically chose this date:
- They have a decent gap until the next race to study all the data they can collect.
- They will stay two more days at the Hungaroring to conduct Pirelli tests, allowing for more data collection from the new package.
- It will be easier to understand the behavior of the new package by using the old PU before the new Honda upgrade arrives for the next race.
- Hungaroring is one of the least engine-dependent tracks, making it a good place to understand the chassis performance

I'm quite sure it's important for the team to have a clear picture of how the upgrades are working before the summer break. This ensures they don't have major correlation issues, everything works as expected, and they can plan what to do next.

Just a thought but if Honda engine is same as earlier no ADUO changes applied and with the new gear box and chassis there are no vibrations then it can be concluded that Honda is underpowered but the gearbox or another component was responsible for vibrations?

There are things that you can tweak in the engine tuning (boost, ignition timing, fuel injection quantity & timing and I don't know if some more) that can do a great change in engine behaviour without touching a single hardware part.
