Carlos Sainz seems frustrated enough at Williams to be a contender for Alonso's seat next year if he decides to retire, I think.

I'd be good with a Sainz signing. I really expected Williams to be better than they are currently.

So, Sainz next WDC.

Edit: not a dig to anyone nor any team, bar the Alonso's signing record.

I still do not get racing only one more year. Next year should be more competitive, but 2028 is when maybe Honda can close the gap.

Ugh. Honda only needed one more week to be ready with the upgrade.

I bet Alonso wouldn't complain if the driver in the other AMR garage was Sainz! That's what it should be, a guy that can take over when Alonzo retires. Sainz might not be the best driver in F1 but he not a diva, problem free and is in the top 99% of drivers on the grid.

That would be the best pairing on the grid. But its not happening until Stroll Jr. decides he wants to go and do something else.

He just said he will not go to another team for next year, he has not decided if he will drive for Aston in 2027 yet.

https://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/49 ... ungaroring
Fernando Alonso insists he will not leave Aston Martin for another team next year, saying the main question hanging over his future is whether he enjoys driving the latest generation of Formula 1 cars enough to remain in the series.

Alonso, 44, has previously said he will decide on his 2027 plans over the summer break, which starts after this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Aren't they supposed to prepare the car for scrutiny today?

Scrutineering starts 4 hours before FP1 now from what I can see in the 2026 F1 Sporting regs: https://www.fia.com/system/files/docume ... -06-25.pdf
B3.1.1 Each Competitor will be required to carry out initial scrutineering of their F1 Cars, which will
commence four (4) hours prior to the start of FP1 and, unless prior written permission has been
granted by the Technical Delegate, submit the duly completed declaration no later than two (2)
hours before the start of FP1. The declaration form template will be provided by the FIA.
