Wheel Spin on the right rear. Wrong diff mode and too much beans ? Maybe he broke the left rear suspension when he went off track. Looks like he breaks it at the 16 second mark of that video.
No. You can see on the video that the tire is in an abnormal angle as he loses control.
The tire marks are because of the slide, due to suspension failure.
I don't see that. I see tire marks from wheel spin on the outside tire that didn't break. Don't see anything from the inside tire. Anyways we'll find out the cause.
My hope is that it was a simple installation error that caused the break. They did break curfew to build this car.

So the real AMR26 will finally be here.
They started late compare to others so now they will have to use this as a starting point to catch up!

Hopefully Honda can do the same

With the set up dialed in, should get some good comparison on the new PU next week at the tyre test. Should be easy to see the difference the new PU makes, and hopefully it is a big improvement on the first version. The car at least looks much improved, although this circuit would have always looked better for us than the last few.

Well the other side was already broken. Wheel spin or not it was because the car was going sideways because of the breakage.

Alonso still doing 303kph in the speed trap (13kph lower than the second slowest, 20 less than the fastest so far), so still running a limiter in FP2 then it seems: https://formula-timer.com/livetiming

Edit: Went 305 then 307 after I wrote this post. 10 kph behind Cadillac now. Maybe they are lifting it a bit, or maybe slip streams, not sure.

neweys always vague when talking about performance. but the fact that he said that things were looking promising is good. i dont think he knows how to BS . im curious if theyll bring a new rear wing to monza. seems like i remember them saying that they had been developing a macaroni rear wing at the beginning of the season.

The vibration thing is a bit concerning for reliability and driver comfort for race distance. Hopefully the new PU improves that.

Ted Kravitz reporting on Sky that Newey was in the garage looking at Lance's car and Lawrence also had showed up there. :wtf:

Newey said it was a part that they didn't update that broke.

What I thought was a limiter is actually PU vibrations.

On the failure that curtailed Stroll’s running after just 11 laps, Newey said: "Everybody is feverishly trying to understand what went wrong and it is only once we have an understanding that we can comment on what we do next.

"The area involved is not what has been changed, so in that sense it was very unexpected."
