Depending on how Honda does, I expect them to be mixing it up with Audi by the time we get to the last 5 races of the season.

Or the counter measures just don't work for the new chassis.
Or the new rear suspension doesn't work? New one caused Lance's to break. Both cars had the oscillations. If they reverted back to the old suspension and the vibrations are gone in FP2, one could surmise that there is some relationship.

For some reason Newey's response doesn't seem genuine. I think he's feeling the pressure of Stroll Sr. as his son's car almost pitched him into the wall. Stroll had a masterful save - possibly Newey's job.

Are they getting a new gearbox along with engine for next race?

It appears it is new/revised at this weekend race: Aston Martin is using a new, lighter-weight gearbox as part of a major B-spec upgrade package at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Maybe the vibration dampeners needed to be adjusted for the new chassis.
I think this is the only thing you can say about vibrations. no needs more.

While this is just a guess on my part, AM said the broken part was an older version. From this, we can conclude that the old parts used in the new design don't work seamlessly with the new design. We can also understand why they used the old parts, given how hard they managed to get them ready. This was just the first day of the new car. Clearly, even this update has shortcomings due to time constraints. Despite that, it wasn't bad. We can hope for something better when they understand everything and complete the update. Of course, by then there will also be a new engine. Hopefully, that will be a promising step forward, like the chassis.

I think you just jumping to conclusions. Wait for the analysis.

Yesterday I was watching a video several times about the 16 modifications that have been made to the AMR26. Considering that the new engine with all its satellite parts is still missing... it seems like almost too many modifications.

On one hand, I think it’s great to make so many because the car is a bit of a mess, but on the other hand, it makes me even more uneasy. How are they going to figure out the source of the handling problems after making so many changes at once? I ended up worrying about the height of the bargeboards: they’ve reduced it now... does this mean that their previous (apparently) excessive height could cause some kind of reverberation that might amplify the damn vibrations? And so I kept imagining the "whys" of each modification. Conclusion? A real mental mess; if the height of the bargeboards was enough for almost a whole novel... putting everything together is an almost excessive challenge for the mind.

Until we have an engine that is more on par with the others, I think the car's driving can be improved. There are some logical things, like having fine-tuned the nose by elongating it as well. The modification of the rear deflector of the front wheels. The details on the engine cover-sides (the air intake seems to be smaller, the Coke shape seems more streamlined to me). I also think it's positive that they have modified the floor overall, especially at its rear part in front of the rear wheel. But from here I get lost, and that’s even without the modifications I consider most important: the front and rear wings; the performance of the diffuser; the rear suspension and its nearby gearbox…

I don’t know how the hell they’re going to be able to quickly tune the car with so many changes. I fear they might get caught in another devilish spiral and not be able to separate each part to understand the overall workings and performance.

But I also hope that Newey really is still who he is and things start moving in the right direction. Because we couldn’t keep going the way we are this season and something had to be done. We’ll see. And there’s still the engine ...

Doesn’t look like I’m going to be bored for the rest of the season

i think the new update looks good, a big step up for sure. now we need the full package with the engine to see the real situation. Also on the engine side, seems its mostly AI doing deployment and doing learning on the go! lap by lap. not surprising but isnt that a Driver aid? i thought the driver must drive the car un-aided at all times. if the Ai is doing the decisions for the driver its a driver Aid. how is that not against the rules?

Stroll 318kph in the speed trap so far. Limiter raised or lifted it seems. Will be interesting too see the pace today.

It wasn't a limiter yesterday it was the vibrations.

Looks like a pice flew off of Alonso's car down the straight.

It was a limiter… AM said they limited it to check aerodynamic data…

Really? It sounded like a limiter to me but then with all the talk about vibrations I just presumed it was the vibrations.
