Nope... The rumors go from no power increase to 50hp+. Although the one thing they did say is that there will be no more vibration.Artur Craft wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 13:38Yeah. Nice to see Aston improve this much. Does anyone have any idea how significant will be that engine upgrade on Zandvoort ?
ADUO has not improved Ferrari and Audi noticebly, so I´m very skeptical about Honda´s
At turn 13 (that loop before the last corner and the entry to the main straight) I saw Alonso a bit jerky the only time he appeared on TV going fast in that area. I thought the rear suspension was too stiff, that the movement was due to sliding, or both.
And you're saying this because? You did read what Orihars has said about the engine upgrade. It's Honda's Bspec engine, actually the 3rd spec for this year. The combustion shape has been altered, having stated that their combustion had been up to this point immature. They had an issue with the fuel which they have been working on. The step in performance is a big step, not small. The dyno numbers are known by the team. This number is not in question since it's able to be measured on the dyno. The issue is reliability and whether the chassis can handle the power. RB21 didn't have vibration issues with the Honda PU and it has a similar vibration profile according to Watanabe. From the Honda side, this points to an integration issue. In otherwords, it's an installer issue.Artur Craft wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 13:38Yeah. Nice to see Aston improve this much. They are doing a filming day after! the Pirelli tyre tests.. don't know if its before or after the summer shutdown.ispano6 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 15:34And you're saying this because? Honestly, I'm skeptical about the new chassis and the integration with the old PU. I'm not sure how Aston can make use of a filming or tyre test during summer shutdown but if I were Honda I'd have AMR send the new monocoque bulkhead and gearbox or heck one entire car for Honda to test on the VTT once more so that they can dictate how the PU should be integrated. Hopefully what they learned the first time testing on the VTT still applies and AMR knows what it has to do on their side to accommodate their PU. It seems they have come to understand what they needed to adjust to resolve the vibrations that reappeared as oscillations. Whether that is a map, engine timing tweaks or other counter-measures prepared on the chassis side, the issue is where the oscillations manifest. On the MGUK area or more rearward and felt through the gearbox. Either way, it is an integration issue that requires countermeasures.
neweys answers "dont seem genuine" because you are incapable of offering any view that doesnt leave AMR as some villain thats in some weird war against hondas integrity. any quote from newey or any other team member that doesnt offer complete immunity to honda from doing anything wrong is obviously a conspiracy to denigrate the whole company, and all japanese people to boot. (this is weird af)ispano6 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 06:24Or the new rear suspension doesn't work? New one caused Lance's to break. Both cars had the oscillations. If they reverted back to the old suspension and the vibrations are gone in FP2, one could surmise that there is some relationship.
For some reason Newey's response doesn't seem genuine. I think he's feeling the pressure of Stroll Sr. as his son's car almost pitched him into the wall. Stroll had a masterful save - possibly Newey's job.
