Kimi set a green mini-sector where Max's car was stopped. 3 places is a let-off, all things considered.

Russell was 14km/h slower past Max's car in Austria, hence no penalty.

Russell damaged the PU when he went over a kerb.
Russell explains his particular problem

🗣️"On lap 4 I hit the piano and got a water leak, the team told me the leak was affecting the tires, we've seen the leak in the data and how the tire temperatures dropped, but honestly we weren't in the fight among the top three anyway, it could have been 4th or 5th but no more"

🗣️"I don't think it had any impact other than having to pit, but the team told me the leak was reaching the tires and it's funny. We don't have the pace this weekend and I hope tomorrow is better"

That engine is as heavy duty as Barcelona's high line. Always breaks.

Its an F1 car, not a tank to throw it hard on curbs. I mean its not the engine fault.

You're kind of supposed to though, it's designed to keep going while being under continuous strain. An F1 car seems like it should be fragile, but they're constantly run on the limit. It's a crazy amount of strain that you can't really comprehend if your frame of reference is just your every day car that probably never gets close to the redline.

The guy is just unlucky. An F1 engine shouldn't tear itself apart just because you ran over a kerb.
