Not quite sure what you mean to say about the rear suspension. Did someone place blame on Honda for the rear suspension failure?
The vibrations were of a nature that wasn't experienced before in the A-spec chassis. Still, Honda understood immediately what the issue was and made effective use of their countermeasures. Honda had become aware of the nature of AMRs oscillations that manifest in the chassis and know how the integration needs to be. Newey when he was asked didn't know the nature but was quick to mention Honda. Krack would have used different diction. It's been noted by Yamamoto that Horner and Marko were VERY keen not to disrespect Honda which in turn Honda repaid with unwavering commitment. Respect is probably MORE important than failure. Disrespect will lead to resentment, as we saw with McLaren. Orihara is in his first year and is an easy target. If it were Tanabe and his stoic nature I believe the treatment would be different. People talk of this massive power deficit without really understanding why the deficit even exists. Orihara said the upgrade will be a big step, so why not trust his words? If Tanabe were saying it, some probably wouldn't doubt it.
BTW, prior to the season, Tetsushi Kakuda, the MGUK engineer who worked with HondaJet on the previous MGUK breakthrough stated they are confident in their hybrid portion of the PU and that the preseason struggles leading up to homologation were all on the ICE side. Fortunately Honda rounded up key members of the previous dreamteam after those individuals completed their assignments from their projects. There are two teams working on the PUs due to the kneejerk 52/48 split and fuel flow debacle which is actually costing power unit suppliers more and given the annually changing power split , fuel flow rate, Honda's strengths would be diminished every following year. It's a headache for the PU department and the talk of V8s is a literal facepalm and shaking of heads. But Honda is working to find a way and meet the challenge doing it the Honda way. They are raising the young engineers who are gaining confidence in how to develop the PU with this new sustainable fuel supplier. I won't speak badly about Aramco but the Saudi giant is facing its own challenges. I do know the situation would be different if they were working with ExxonMobil, but we are where we are.
I have full confidence that like the fairytale story of from ashes to 21/22 races won in a dominant fashion, Honda again will prevail. Never underestimate the Power of Dreams and the passion of Honda. AMR and Honda are gaining synergy and it takes two to tango. We're going dancing again and going from line dancing to waltz. Soon we'll be foxtroting, and next year we'll tango.
