Ford has noting to do with that RBR engine.
Let’s see what happens with that ADUO2 engine but if McLaren are back on the playing ground this is not looking good.

Being fair to Ferrari. They did do a good job with the engine as well. Mercedes´ is maybe outside the rules and RBPT just humiliated everybody : Audi, Honda and Ferrari
I still struggle to believe how Red Bull were able to pull this off. VW and Stellantis are mega car manufacturers and have several decades of know-how on this. How can a few engineers working in Milton Keynes outsmart these big companies ?
They took all the good people from Honda. This is the reason Aston were going crazy because the Honda they ended up with already had the good bits stripped.

On their official site they mention that the engine was a collaboration between RB and Ford and they did not do it alone.
Did Hamilton design the car? Is he making the team's strategy? I think there's a huge overestimation of Lewis's role at Ferrari, and to think he's Schumacher 2.0 who will organize everything at Ferrari and make them champions again is ridiculous in my honest opinion.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 22:08On their official site they mention that the engine was a collaboration between RB and Ford and they did not do it alone.
But on to the main matter at hand. Ferrari keep racing like amateurs. Instead of helping Lewis they've costed him 20 points from amateurish mistakes. They have to understand that if they want to be champions they have to back up the person who knows how to build a championship winning team.
It sounds harsh on Charles but he's 9 years at Ferrari and has given nothing.
Ford joined the project after RBPT had already run a full ICE on the bench. They have since helped with the sort of OEM relationships and technology access that have helped take that to the next level but the original IP is all RBPT. The reality is they hired an all star team of engineers from Mercedes with a few of Honda's team also joining later. Ben Hodgkinson is a genius and one of the engineers most responsible for all of HPPs success in the last formula. They started early and ran a full PU on the bench while Mateschitz was still alive to see it. They have state of the art facilities and no tech debt to deal with and have pulled off what I consider a miracle. This is by some distance the best new engine manufacturer debut in modern F1 history in only half a season. Audi have done a decent job and is what a normal engine manufacturer debut looks like. What RBPT have done is not normal and can't really be used as some sort of benchmark because its so exceptional.PierreW wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 21:41djones wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 21:22Ford know nothing about modern F1 engines.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 20:30

Red bull poached several Mercedes key engine engineers as soon as 2021 for their project.
Good post very true what you wrote Schumacher brought a whole team with him in those days and they spend a fortune to make a car which just suited him and no cost cap constant testing which is not allowed anymore. Also Schumacher made the strategy not the team.edu2703 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 23:58Did Hamilton design the car? Is he making the team's strategy? Perhaps we have different definitions of giving something to the team, but Leclerc contributed to Ferrari as much as Hamilton. However, a driver alone, even if he can give his feedback and direct the car's development, cannot work miracles in a team with deep-rooted problems and an outdated organizational culture by modern standards.
9 years is a long time he should have had a car which suited him and now suddenly during the season he needed to change the brake discs , come on he he pre season testing to sort this all out. Maybe he is a bit lazy to talk to the engineers and designersDarth-Piekus wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026, 01:09You are right. Hamilton did not design the car but then again Hamilton did try to bring some people with him from Mercedes just like Schumacher. The difference is that Schumi was successful because Bennetton is a smaller team compared to Mercedes as an entity. And you are right that Schumacher had unlimited budget and Ferrari covered a testing distance bigger than the distance from Earth to the Moon. So I agree that its harder now. However I stand in my opinion that Leclerc hasnt contributed to anything at Ferrari. Hamilton immediately realized that the simulator is crap, saw the Mercedes rear and we learned that Mercedes had to modify it because Hamilton found something. We hear from everyone in Maranello how he is trying to organize them into a serious team. I havent seen Leclerc doing something similar in all his 9 years in Ferrari. A great driver can drive a car to the max but a legend drives a car to the max and leads a team into titles.

His social media attaché?
Did they really start Chuck on USED softs??? Holy god. Is this even a f-ing racing team? Jesus. wtf.maxxer wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026, 01:36The team made so many mistakes this weekend from the pitwall
Not telling hamilton that a faster car was coming up
Starting Charles on used softs
The pitlane speed i also find strange but ok might have been hamilton his own mistake
Overall the strategy cost them alot of points again
I would even say when hamilton was losing out on verstappen to swap them and see earlier what Charles could do
