I feel sorry for the staff in Charlotte, going off for the Holidays with all the Campos, Lotus and Manor publicity in mind.

Hope they can bounce back come January.

I think that is their Achilles heel. It was needless show boating to insist on a US personnel if that meant they excluded the possibility of hiring someone with F1 experience.

Same too for drivers. If they don't hire a driver with F1 experience then they'll be needlessly shooting themselves in the foot.

The F1 grid is impressive for its blend of international talent. Teams get the best person available, it's very mercenary. Before USF1, the most nationalist team on the grid was Ferrari. However, they got where there are today by rebuilding from the ground up with Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne, Jean Todt, and Michael Schumacher. Despite that, they were still a team that was 100% Italian.

So when it comes to USF1, it seems like arrogance to think they can build a team based on nationality as opposed to getting the right person for the job. It then seems from their PR that no one on the team has done this before, that they don't have a clue.

I do genuinely wish them luck. My heart hopes that their uniquely nationalist US branding brings in enough sponsorship cash to overcome the deficiency of not having experienced F1 people in the team. My brain thinks they took a wrong turn along the way.

One of the arguments from the beginning was that Peter Windsor had been General Manager for Ferrari and Ken Anderson was x-Technical director of the Ligier F1-team. Neither was really true.

Surely you can back those allegations?
Come on. I'm not the first person to allege that something dubious is going with Lotus' remarkable similarity to the FI. Force India themselves raised it. Gascoyne's proffered explanation, that Aerolab stuck on some bodywork they had sitting around, rings false when you see the windtunnel video on Lotus' site running with said bodywork. The Autosport video is interesting, you should watch it if you haven't. Then ask yourself why a 2010 car would need a large diameter hinged refueling flap on the outside of the sidepod.

How is "people like you" a personal attack? Did you think I was referring to Swedes?

Does anyone really care???

They will be the joke team of the paddock next year. Out of the 4 new teams im only taking Lotus and Campos-Dallara with a little bit of seriousness. Virgin, im reserving judgement on till they hit the track. But USF1, im not taking them with any seriousness.

I think, only in my own stupid Swedish head of course, that the only million dollar question ahead is if Windsor can top his previous statements in terms of ignorance and xcuses?

OMG, can you just start a thread somewhere more appropriate for your Peter Windsor man-crush already and leave this as a place where someone might be able to find relevant information?

That's just the point, while the web has relevant info on the other new entrants, there is simply nothing on this, "USF1".

But in case you have some inside-info on said team, plese feel free to share?
