Riiiiight. Brawn would never select strategies that favor Schumi

Rosberg has a real chance to make a name for himself here, If he can smash a returning Schumacher early on in the season MercGP would be forced to give him some strong backing, cant wait to see how Nico responds to this challenge /opportunity.

Nico better glue his ass to that simulator seat for the next couple months.

So what becomes of Vettel coming to Merc GP in 2011?
Shumi says he is in it for 3 years, and Rosberg may want to stick around too.

Vettel is for two years at Red Bull with an option for a third year. Perhaps he considers Merc next year for 2012 or 2013 or Merc somehow engineer a swap of Rosberg vs Vettel at a later time. There are many options.

Nah, Rosberg is too much of an uptight pretty boy for RBR. And who knows, he may get better results than Vettel and Mercedes won't have a reason to give him the boot.

Rosberg's seat is completely dependent on his performance from here on out. He's not the German marketing tool anymore. Merc will make boat loads of cash from the Schumi deal and will be easily able to pull in Vettel if they have a winning car. Schumi and Vettel vs Schumi and Rosberg or Rosberg and Vettel would make Merc quite a sum of money.

Read somewhere that Fisichella and De la Rosa are the only ones running for the remaining seat at Sauber... don't know if it's true.
Heidfeld could be without a seat for next year? :?

I have been concerned about that for some time. He may be the big looser of the Merc/MSC story.

He's only stayed in f1 for as long as he has thanks to BMW, webber showed him up as merely being average while they they were both at Williams and Bob has done the same at BMW sauber.

There may be some nationally colored perception involved. Perhaps we can agree that Nick could have over played his hand a bit.

considering nick only participated in 13 events in 2005 after suffering an injury ,
and bagging a pole position ,2 second place race result etc ... vs Webbers one 3rd place it seems a bit over the top to call this average compared to the aussie..
please be so kind and don´t call a guy who managed to stay in F1 for a decade on merit average ,he´s not Michael ,yes but webber is not as well.

Yeah, but no team ever wants to keep him over their teammates. There has to be something to it other than just points. Maybe Kub has more raw speed and ability to set up the car.

Points aside, Heddy keeps getting cast off in favor of others. I have to wonder what it is about him that we don't know that the world of F1 does.

He either has a lot of bad luck or it is a lack of the killer instinct that makes some guys find the opportunities for glory. Heidfeld is a save pair of hands but he never had a seat in a real top two car for a season. Button is similar and he enjoyed a brief spell of competitiveness which gave him his first race win. Compared to Kubica he usually was slower in qualifying and faster in the races. Over the years he has shown some beautiful moves, sometimes taking two opponents in one go.

Heidfeld, I feel sorry for the guy. He was just too timid, just to forgettable. Because I am a BMW fan I tried to support him but it just never worked out. I really wanted to see him in a top car this year but He had his chance to make a lasting impression and he didn't. So.. :-({|=
