Campos is up for sale!

Well, how about that one?

"It's no secret that we don't have the budget. And the time is limited", says one source close to the team. "When we find an investor, negotiate, if we can sell a part or the whole team. For that to happen the investment plan must be solid."

That's a shame but no real surprise, I hope they can get something sorted out.

Tony Teixeira? That really would be dancing with the devil. I wonder how the FIA and FOM would feel about it. On the other hand, if he's go any money left he is clearly an enthusiast and loves his racing.

James: "Well, that should put them out then."

Let's see what we have here, Campos with a Dallara-car but no budget, then there's USF1 with Chad Hurley but no car?

I wonder how this little problem can be solved?

This shows actually how genius the plan was, thery should have gave them the spot for 2011 with an option for 2010, from when they were announced until now the time they had was way too short to set the team up.

And all we read in this forum are anti-USF1 posts . . . "we don't have the budget"! :wtf:

But they have a car! And at least one contracted driver, see my suggestion above, Don!

Nice selection process indeed. We have 2 out of 3 entries that are unlikely to be ready and a 'man called Stefan' with something that once was a Formula1 team but without an entry.

I guess while FIA were turning down the entries of Lola and Prodrive the main argument was "Everything's gonna be aaaalllright  "

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but what I can't figure out is how the FIA define the need for every team to design and build their own chassis. When a separate entity like Dallara builds Campos' car, with the design-input from
Gary Anderson as consultant, that's ok then?

I guess that's ok until the IP belongs to a single team (hence RBR<-RBT->STR situation is not ok).

and ironicly enough those 2 teams you called have all the things they need to build the car, those were the 2 teams that didnt need to invest at all but they didnt get the spots, maybe the FIA wanted this to fail?

What better way to persuade others that radical cost-cutting is necessary when you can demonstrate new teams failing to make the grid.

Naah, more like Lola and Prodrive/Aston-Martin was a tad too "manufacturish" for MrM's geschmack at that point in time.

I think it had something to do with the threat of a manufacturer based setup- in that they were putting up these arbitary teams to supposedly replace Ferrari and McLaren et al. Now they have their signatures I guess the FIA don't really need the extra teams. I truly do feel for Lola and Prodrive though, as the lack of these guys makes me think it was a personal decision on Mosley's side. Now I'm hoping that Stef and USF1 make it to the grid.
