You need to compare STR with Brawn to see how the Ferrari engine did in a non KERS car. The Ferrari data are impacted by their use of KERS while Brawn did not use KERS.
Over a race distance you're still talking only 2kg's difference

I read the difference between Brawn and STR as 0.35 kg/lap. Multiplied by 50 laps that will be 18 kg at the begin of the race or 9 kg average over the whole race. Lets assume we loose 0.2 s per lap for 9 kg you end up 10 s behind at the end of the race. Not insignificant in my view.

:-s aren't the fuel averages 2.56 for STR, and 2.525 for Brawn?

I'm doing my maths over a rough average 65 laps..

STR = 2.560 x 65 = 166.400 kg's required
BGP = 2.525 x 65 = 164.125 kg's required

so where am i going wrong?

Yes, you are right. I got something mixed up when reading out the diagram. Well done!!

Cool, all that counts is we're on the same page! So where does that leave us?

Fair to say that fuel efficiency isn't a huge performance differentiator as initially feared?

did you figure it between Renault and Ferrari?

To be fair, i'd use Red Bull, as again, no tainting of KERS on it (regardless of how little Renault used it).

and yeah, 2.440 x 65 = 158.6kg's brings a potentially notable difference all of a sudden.

I think it was Paddy Lowe that mentioned 160kg tanks at the MP4-25 launch.. that holds these figures in pretty good light!

Why don't we stay with the figures from the graphs. They were carefully analyzed over the whole season. Compare the article posted for details. I think they are more representative.

Im just giving a few different examples, can i do that???

Also, the graphs dont have the actual figures on them, so basically im giving a more "exact" figure.

How did you come about your figures ESP?

Most significantly different is BMW's efficiency & Ferrari's lack of..

Sorry, I didn't want to piss you off. I was just trying to build a consensus what data should be used.

Is it a coincidence that the 2 cars on top the pre season testing list are ferrari powered?
The engine could be much improved.
For Sure!!
