I wouldn't say it like that. Obviously Sebastian has greater potential, because he is so very young. But he isn't faster. In qualifying sessions 1 and 2 they were almost equally fast the entire season. It was just, that the Sebastian could cope better with the race fueled 3rd qualifying session. Mark was already struggling with that in 07 and 08, when he was doing a superb job in the first two qualifying sessions more often than not, only to struggle in Q3 afterwards. That and Sebastian got the lighter fuel load almost every time. This leads to many people believing he is faster. I think that's a very distorted perception. Come Sundays Mark usually looked that little bit stronger.
LoudHoward and univex could be spot on there. The new qualifying rules as well as the changed focus on tire wear could well be an advantage for Mark - or more precisely could iron out his "Q3 weakness" for that matter. Can he up his game? From Red Bull's perspective one could only hope so. But then again, first we have to see if Newey built a winner once again. We'll know in 4 weeks.
