Major differences between the Mc Laren MP4/25 and MP4/24
1.Nose cone shape and height
2.Front wing
3.Undernose splitter ala Williams FW31
4.The nose cone camera winglets are placed lower and attached directly to the nose pillars .
5.Front suspension – steering rack
6.Bargeboards are now larger
7.Sidepod inlets are more boxy
8.Sidepod panels
9.Sidepods shape
10.Floor around the sidepods
11.Airbox zone
12.Engine cover ala Red Bull RB5 style
13.Multiple hot air exits on the car body and at the rear
14.Exhausts outlets are totally new

NOSE CONE

The MP4/25 has a higher , flatter and much thinner nose . The last Mc Laren with a high nose ( but much much thinner ) was the MP4/16 in 2001 . The nose shape probably works in conjunction with the ala Williams undernose splitter


UNDERNOSE SPLITTER

The nose cone camera winglets are placed lower and attached directly to the nose pillars . They now seem to function together with the undernose splitter .

BARGEBOARDS

The MP4/25’s bargeboards are significantly higher than the MP4/24’s launch version and they resemble more to the ones used at Suzuka ’09 , but they have a less curvy front edge . Moreover they feature a very smooth stepped upper profile . The new bargeboards possibly fit better to the new sculpted sidepod bottoms and I predict to be changed till Australia.

RADIATORS INLETS

The radiators inlets are drastically changed from a semi – quarter oval shape to rectangular but their overall opening area seems not to be smaller though . Another visual change its their width , which is now smaller and the underbody below them is sculpted further .

FLOOR AROUND THE SIDEPODS

The vertical floor endplate around the sidepods , present at MP4/24 is now gone for the MP4/25 .
Future is like walking into past......

Below is a good picture, it highlights your point 12. It clearly shows the engine cover is now made up of three piece rather than the normal single piece. Probably to cope with the huge fin, and the complex curved surfaces:

1 - The fin with "Mobil 1" and "Mercedes"
2 - The bulge from below "Mercedes" down to the side pod with "afone". One on each side, so this counts as two pieces
