Emerson Fittipaldi won the race as the first Brazilian F1 race winner. He was only 23 years old which may have been a record at that time or not.

Bruce McLaren won the 1959 United States Grand Prix when he was younger than Fittipaldi in the race in question. Don't know about the first Brazilian bit though.

Yes, the Ford Cosworth was American because Ford owned it. It just the same as Red Bull is Austrian and Mercedes German. Having UK companies do the job does not give them legitimate ownership. They sold their services to the foreign capital and so the flag and the music will be foreign.
I respectfully beg to disagree.

Ford paid £100,00 for an independant firm, Cosworth, to develop an engine. Ford did not own Cosworth, they paid for a design. The developement, build, engineering and everything else was English.

Same way that Tag paid Porsche - but it does not make Porsche engines to be Swiss! (and since when was Mansour Ojjeh a Swiss? He is a french arab of some description isn't he and TAG is based out of Luxembourg!

Repco are an Australian company who developed an engine from an American source. How that becomes an English "victory" I do not follow.

We have moved on...so we can let it lie - but you need not to present us with diktat and assume we kow-tow to your posts.

Apart from that..I enjoy your questions.. :shock:

I have no problem to agree that we disagree on the issue and diktat is far from me. The Cosworth engine was always badged "Ford" and according to the official way to attribute Nationalities it is an American engine because Ford is an American based corporation. I did not invent the way to count it but used the data base from Motorsport total.com.

Btw Porsche developed the Vrod engine for Harley as a turnkey job. Nevertheless the engine and the bike is still an American product.

As I have already said I think it is correct but you may in all honesty hold different opinion on that.

I guess I need to give you a little hint: The Watkins Glen track was reshaped and extended for 1971...

By the way, the statistic/record I am searching is still standing to this day (and it is highly unlikely that it will be broken this year).

Correct! =D> Although the fastest race lap from Ickx was even shorter: 1:02.74

Barichello's number of F1 starts. It used to be Patrese with 255. It is now Twobens with 286. Schumi, due to his retirement only has 248 starts although he entered the sport earlier. He also missed a number of races in 1999 due to his broken legs from the Silverstone accident. Rubens did not miss a race since he started in 1993 at the South African GP for Jordan.

I thought this might come up, but it's not what I'm looking for.
Btw Barrichello surpassed Patreses mark at the 2008 Turkish Grand Prix.
And having driven the most GP is not so insignificant imho.

The other thing that improved in F1 was reliability. So it could be:
Most consecutive classified finishes
Most consecutive race finishes
Least percentage of DNFs in a year

I'll let that count. The thing I had in mind was the percentage of classified starts in a season.
The 2009 figure rests at 78.82% (268 finishes from 340 starts).

Do I haver to give a hint there: There arn't so many German manufacturers in the F1 statistics.

As we all know, (and for what ever it's worth) Rubens was not a participant in the 1994 San Marino GP and is designated as a DNQ because of:
