The only other car with hydraulic suspension system prior to Lotus (not active) is the Brabham BT49C.

But his was for lowering the car to bypass the regulation of a minimum ride height.

No, I don't mean that car. As you correctly noted it was not an active or semi-active system.

Yes, but there was another one. If noone would name it by the end of the day, it would be your turn.

I heard a different categorization:

- active: keep a certain pre-defined ride height
- re-active: react on the current height, velocity, bumbs etc.
- semi-active: only influence the behaviour of the damping fluid (no adding of energy to the system)

Haven't seen you added Citroen cars before posted, I guess that would work -- Ligier JS19 had suspension based on CItroen technology.
Peter Wright called it semi-active system.
It appeared at 1982-1983, but was abandoned for a traditional setup.

Over to you Matt!

Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

Name the late F1 driver with very unusual statistics when it matters his achievements.

One win, one podium, one pole position, one fastest lap.
