Mclaren Mercedes MP4-25

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Food for thought and discussion.
Curiously considering the much announced partnership with Koni and its FSD technology. McLaren in fact use multimatic dampers on the race car!

so the difference between hero and loser.. :?
Alonso's comment was in the context of conserving tires!
You can't say what amount of time he was conserving, or wasting!
He was in the race to win, and stated so!
Saying that you are only pushing your car 99% on the first of what was to be 36 laps is not an indication of a loser!
Obviously his strategy was good enough to close on Vettel before Vettel faded!
yes and in this context he had to stay away from the last percent of performance ,so a second slow ...to stand a chance of make the tyres live for the allocated laps.
no contradiction there in my view?

So Alonso's and Vettel's pace has what to do with the Mclaren MP4/25 exactly?

Exactly.

+1 - More a conversation to be had in the race thread I would have thought.

It is not an April fool joke!

They are talking about the starter motor hole in the diffuser in the mclaren that is unusually shaped. They have exploited the hole to gain probably another little floor in the diffuser to gain more downforce. FIA have ordered them they cannot use the same diffuser as of Bahrain from Australian GP onwards and have to revise it.

Looks like The Mirror doesn't know what it's talking about...usual tabloid non-story made to look important.

The Mirror is just that a SICK joke.
People who read it accept lies as a matter of course in their puerile lives.

+1 - People call The Mirror a newspaper, where in my opinion it's more like a comic. It's not quite as bad as The Sun, but it's getting close.

It looks as though they have their 'revolutionary aerodynamic systems' mixed up. Their straight line speed device has been allowed, but the problem now is the start motor hole that both they and apparently Mercedes have been using.

Typical though really. Arse-wipe newspapers always love to do English drivers and teams down.

I think it's part of the British condition really. Same was true in the 80's RE "football hooligans", and we like good little puppies read it and buy it!

Sorry, off topic there. I shall stop RIGHT NOW.

Would you care to elaborate a little on what you mean by that?
