Scarbs

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Praise indeed, I doubt if famous is the word to describe me. Try to get hold of RCE (racecar-engineering.com) it’s a great technical read across lots of areas, well beyond my writing on F1 design.

I have started to take some of the interviews I've conducted over the past few years and post them on my site http://www.scarbsf1.com, please pop along and have a look you might find them useful.

So far I have technical interviews with Adrian Newey, David Coulthard, Allan McNish and Toyotas engine and aero man.

I'll add more as I round up my transcriptions and tapes from the past few years.

just an off-topic question maybe... but I'm thinking of getting me this magazine, I have seen that I can order it through racecar-engineering.com

I suppose that is the correct site right?
Anyway... could anyone describe me a little more, what is there to read in it, some recurring things? for example what was discussed in the last edition? how many pages, how often released?

thanks

yes thats the right site. they do have an f1 focus thing, where they take close pictures of most of the cars in a certain area, like bargeboards, endplates, etc. These past few magazines had stuff on monocoque survival cells etc and I think the next one is set to have another article on the same, sort of a progressive series. Very good magazine, maybe too many advertisements in there, but it probably helps keep the cost down!!! I think Peter Wright responds to some of the letters readers can send in etc. BUY THIS MAGAZINE! i am still trying to find race tech, I can only assume it is worth the money and shipping to.

since I'm now studying engineering (although will choose option computer science later on) it doesn't have to be exclusively f1, I'm just interested in mechanics and stuff, think I don't know enough of that yet

scarbs, do you still write for race car engineering? Haven't seen any of your articles in the past few issues ? Or are you only on autosport and no more a freelancer? :)

I still write bits and pieces for Racetech, Racecar engineering and Race Engien technology. While this year Formula1 I am part editing the F1 race technology annual from Race engine technology. (http://www.shopcreator.com/mall/departm ... /1/-/87837).

Autosport remains my main and most regular outlet…

Scarbs,

What are the chances of getting High Power Media to have an 'international user' friendly subscription?... I see the occassional dollar $ign on the site but when it comes to making the payment, all I see is pound ster£ing.
