This was bound to happen to one of the drivers, Victorian govt / police are really tightening the screws on car enthusiasts. Impounding cars, heavy fines are every day reality for Melbournians. Just a few weeks ago people were fined for watching people do burnouts....with a lack of legal alternatives things are reaching fever pitch here....a popular easter weekend event was canceled due to contract issues...this resulted in a riot.

If you like cars don't move to Melbourne.

I suppose they'll summons him, fine him 'in absentia' and Merc Oz will have to pay to get their car back.

I doubt Hamilton or Merc Oz will even notice the fine - it'll be pocket change for them.

And as for Hamilton worrying about his reputation; I reckon it just adds a layer of "real person" to him. He sounds like a "corporate speak" robot most of the time...

Various reports claim various different things. From what I've read, it was hardly a burnout - it was a lot more like "accelerating faster than grip allowed"

I'm impressed the traction control on the Mercs usually is a fun prevention tool and a burnout competition would be more fun to watch than the last gp!
