BMW M1 Procar revival at Hockenheim

ON TOPIC:

Does anyone know for certain if it will be the 1979 cars in action, or if it is a NEW line of M1's that will hit the track at Hockenheim? And will the top 5 F1 drivers be driving them?

Exactly that was my question a few posts earlier. There is suprisingly litte talking about the new BMW supercar, I geass we'll see them only next year most likely.

The more I read about the updated M1 , the less I think it will become a reality past the concept stage....it has long been rumored that BMW was building a supercar though

If what I read is incorrect though , I'll take one in color code 400(steel grey metallic)

Lauda seemed very happy after driving the ProCar. I would really like to see this travel to Spa as well, since everyone involved seemed to have a great time. LOL Lauda talking about coming out of retirement?!?! GO GO GO!

Too bad I can't find any footage of the races at Hockenheim. I would have liked to see Lauda kicking some young driver's asses in that M1. Tomorrow is a second race.

Very disappointed that there is no video available of the Hockenheim Sat/Sun races.

With a revival series, you would think that they would have ahd a plan to get as much media coverage as possible. I do not believe that the races were at all televised, and there is very little to be found on the internet.

Does anyone have any more info/vids/pics? These cars are very cool, and I would love to see some more action!

The car or the pic? The event happened in 2008 I think. The cars are from the late 70-s.

These cars did a few demo laps in 2008 at Hockenheim and I have to say their sound was incredible.

Yeah that straight-6 sounds glorious. There are some vids on youtube shot at historic racing events. I recommend everyone go and check them out.
