Watson drove in Lauda's MP4/2B, since the world champion had injured his wrist. Didn't do much good to McLaren in terms of championship points, finishing 7th, even in an eventful race, that saw Mansell's first win, Prost coronated World Champion, a fantastic race by Rosberg climbing up to 3rd after a puncture following a get together with Senna (for which he took revenge later in the race...) and a superb drive by... Marc Surer!

I strongly recommend to any F1 fan to see the BBC's 40-minute video of the race. By the way, the page that hosts the video seems to be the same where Sebp found the photo... see how everything's related?

Actually, I thought the nickname came from being bulky and heavy, but re-reading the article by Mike Doodson where I took the info from, it isn't clear if both things are mentioned on the same phrase from being related or by chance. What's your source?

I remember that Prost were the one of the first to run with "bi-plane" wings in the modern era - that is a distinct other plane above the lower main plane.

This was at the British GP...err..Going to be 2001 I reckon?

I have the detail in an F1 magazine...Stephane Sarrazin was testing the car for the mag...

I think bridge wing is the wrong term.
Lets called it a "second" wing.

I don´t think so, as it is one frontwing with openings for the coolers.
