I am taking a different view on matters(Sorry if off-topic.) If the biggest way to expose F1 is through TV. Where the team's and event's sponsors will get the most exposure and also from selling the rights to media groups.

Why not get rid off the tracks that produce the lesser entertaining races, keep the ones where the racing is exciting. To find out which new events are exciting or not, offer a new a promoter/track a 3 year contract to see whether the racing is exciting or not. This may produse a high cycle rate of tracks but i think going to new tracks is exciting for the sport.

By keeping the exciting races that people will watch, will gain more exposure for everyone. And therefore get TV ratings up, which means more exposure for sponsors and hopefully cheaper ticket prices and less goverment money spent(specifically the Victorian goverment). So the end result would be that the teams get more tv rights money, sponsors pay more, ticket prices are cheaper so more people would be able to attend races.

I don't want to see any more racing from Bahrain or Valencia, these races do not excite me.

I see, so what you're saying is we're too GOOD for a GP. Please stop, you're making me blush...

How about the gentlemen of FOTA rise up (no pun intended!) and demonstrate that they actually still have fully operating testicles by telling Ecclestone in clear language that he'd better get a Grand Prix, no, two, one east and one west like there used to be, in the USA at a price that actually allows US race promoters to stay in business, or they'll boycott the next running of either Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Korea or China by the democratic method of pulling names out of a hat.
+1! I've been watching the '82 season (no spoilers plz!), some I'm thinking more like three GPs, but one or two would be a start. Trouble is, every time someone brings it up we have to hear about what time it would be in some place I've never been, as if I could care less. You realize that we don't even get to watch the classic-Euro-tracks part of the season live? I know, it's good to have it on a few hours later to expose the sport to the bored NASCAR and IRL viewers, but there's something special about watching a race live, even if it is on TV. I still swear I Jedi-mind-tricked Lewis into the kitty litter in China '07...

Look at the bright side of life, Jon. At least you aren't paying Bernie with your hard earned tax money.
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

I notice that there are comments on Tilke. It is the cars that are the problem, not most of teh tracks.

The tracks that should be ditched are:

Silverstone, Monaco, Valenci, Singapore and the ruined Hockenheim Ring.

If you look at the Tilke tracks, there are passing places, however the cars braking efficiency and aero are such that passing is nigh impossible.

Ditch Silverstone, really? Why's that?

I have never been entertained by a race at Silverstone in 20 years of watching F1. It is just a dull featureless high speed track. It only holds onto an F1 slot due to some misty eyed, rose tinted glasses memories of the BRDC (who spend very little on the track but expect the Government - i.e. us - to pay for track upgrades).

And that is where we started going wrong.
When the constructors started showing up with cars without real suspension and started wanting to dictate the tracks, instead of building cars for the tracks.
the first time they said the kurbs are too high for example, the powers that be should have told them too bad, that they knew the tracks and should have built cars that fit them...but oh no..we wanted to go faster and faster instead of having good racing..Now ya got it..super fast cars that cant race together and cars that cant even make the hairpin at Monaco without modification.
Not even cars, but massively overpowered go karts.
