Clarification time:
Vettel squeezed Hamilton over the blue line.
Vettel aided the push of Hamilton against Webber.

As far as I know there is no overtaking until the leader has crossed the line. You can pass before the line as long as the leader has crossed it. Lewis has possibly racked up his fourth unpunished rules infringement, Button has broken the 40.5 regulation about safety car regs according to Matchett on SpeedTV (same as Lewis did at Fuji awhile back), and Vettel has racked up an infraction for possibly passing before the leader hits start/finish though he didn't actually pass Lewis. As far as I'm concerned Vettel, Button and Lewis results are null and void unless duly penalized and before the races conclusion. Especially Lewis for riding down the pitlane over the blue line, which should be an immediate DQ in my eyes. All of these will go completely unpunished, or not receive a worthy punishment and that will keep people talking until the next race.


Funny that Alonso was called the cheat before the race and he's the only one that has actually gotten a punishment for breaking a rule.

As for the other incidents, that's racing for you. In the last few season, the stewards have been too pedantic and ruined the racing.

No it's not racing. It's selective rule enforcement. If they enforced the rules evenly and fairly, I wouldn't be bitching. But when one guys jumps the lights by a hair and gets a drive through, and the other puts over half the pitlane in danger of having a car drive through their stall and gets no immediate penalty then --- is wrong. Very wrong. Lewis' result should be thrown out for the safety aspect of his pit lane behavior, or at least have an extremely stiff penalty. If Vettel can make his stop faster than him with no dangerous moves then why can't Lewis?

It was Lewis, it was in Fuji 2007 I think, he was swerving all the way across to the tracks very edge and coming to an almost dead stop, he didn't maintain the required gap to the safety car according to the regulations, Vettel was paying attention to him thinking that he had a problem, Webber slowed dramatically to avoid overtaking Lewis and Vettel hit Webber having seen him too late from paying attention to Lewis breaking the rules about maintaining a gap to the safety car. No he wasn't penalized nor given a warning then either.

I think 40.5 Safety car regualtions state you have to maintain a minimum and maximum gap to the safety car and that the leader has to cross start finish before any passing can be done. That's what Steve Matchett said on SpeedTV anyway.

Lewis vs Jenson battle soon. Mark Webber matching the lead pace, so he'll be coming across some drivers soon.

Vettel has an interesting line in the first corner. he double apexes it, where as the rest (as far as I've seen) hug the corner all the way round or at least don't have as wide a double apex.
His line is too consistent to be him just running wide.

Actually, the race restarts at the start line. What's stupid about that?

IFAIK Its been the same for as long as I can remember. Also, slowing down the pack for a restart after a SC has been the same for as long as I can remember too.

Noticed something to do with Sutil, or the FiF1 drivers. They seem to jitter, when doing an overtake, not sure whether they can get closer to the car they're overtaking or whether they're too close. So they zig-zag very slightly.
It looks like they're excited to be overtaking

8 laps to go and it'll be a Macca 1-2 if all goes to plan. It seems their pre-race prediction of win may come true. Major tyre problems for Lewis' tyres. Hopefully he won't have a situation like in 2007, where he infamously slide onto the gravel with no tread.

With all of the penalties Hamilton deserves he should be a minute behind Button. I can't believe they might get a 1-2.

Yeah, Hamilton deserved a penalty, but no worries, I believe he'll get one at Spain.
Good drive from Alonso with 4 pit stops and a drive-through penalty and I have to compliment Rosberg and the two Renault drivers as well with a good drive today.

Too bad for the drivers and teams that the weather is not better in Shanghai as they will be stuck there for a bit longer due to the volcano fall-out.

Quirky factoid from the radio - this is the first time that Hamilton and Button have been on the podium together.
