Post

Hi im still looking for some photos of f1 uprights which have the pushrod mounted on the upright itself . Ive looked on gurney flap and on the net and can't find any satisfactory photos. If you guys have any could you post them here?

I don't think that it is possible to find photo of pushrod and upright connection unless someone has previously removed brake ducts and than reassembled the suspension.

Here you can see the pushrod is on the upright.

Some Keel less cars have the mounting nearer the hub centre line.

having the pushrod mounted to the upright, does it mean you have a changing rate as you steer?

Not if the centreline of the spherical bearing is in line with the castor I wouldn't have thought.

Having the pushrod mounted on the upright (front) allows to transfer load to inside wheel when steering. Amount of load transfer could be changed by moving connecting point longitudinally (relative to wheel axis). This is in some way similar to load transfer when steering due to castor angle.

Hope this helps.
