Valid point, I guess in certain circumstances it may create a messkomninosm wrote:Hey change of subject, sort of. When Alonso passed Massa right before the pit, doesn't that create confusion in the pit crew? I mean they are expecting Massa and get Alonso first. I guess the tyres and stuff are identical for this pitstop, but still, valid question? I doubt it was team orders.
EDIT: Can someone pls post vids of side by side racing in pit-lane in previous years?
heh Miguel a wing came off in the pit entry and they got SC out, if they crashed there they would probably stop the race for an hour LOL
I vaguely recall something similar happen in previous years, but no specifics. It was worse then because of different sets of tyres for each driver.vall wrote:Valid point, I guess in certain circumstances it may create a messkomninosm wrote:Hey change of subject, sort of. JB did have a wheel block outing. Also with their tyres worn out they both made mistakes and irregular lap times near the end.vall wrote:I have a question about LH pace in the last 10 laps. He slipped by 2.5s off the Button's pace and good 9s behind. Then suddenly he was back on JB pace. Why was that? JB slowed? He made a mistake that cost him 3.5s, but still.
Thank you!raymondu999 wrote:JB said in the press conference that he had no grip/balance on the last few laps and he just started aquaplaning with every bit of water he touched, so he had to back off quite a bit. As for pitlane battles, anyone remember Montoya vs Raikkonen a few years back, 2004 I think? That was awesome
yeah, I missed the conf. I watched the race on Chinese TV in Internet and these guess double the press conferences. I no longer bother to even watch it.raymondu999 wrote:JB said in the press conference that he had no grip/balance on the last few laps and he just started aquaplaning with every bit of water he touched, so he had to back off quite a bit. Errrr, Vettel was in front. He had the position. End of. That's the way it works.komninosm wrote:How could he yield when Vettel put his wheel in the McLaren side?
Hmmmmm, no. He eases off the accelerator and drops in behind into the pit lane. Easy. He would have caused a serious accident where he was if he'd ran over a wheel gun. Trying to justify his action of staying in the pit lane box zone, trying to get alongside Vettel, on the basis of safety is.........bizarre, quite frankly. If Hamilton breaked he would have caused the wheels to collide and a serious accident.
Errrrr, no. Hamilton entered the pit lane by crossing the white line. That's very clear. The pictures and rules on that are extremely clear, or at least they should be.You're also deluded about the facts of the pit entry...
No it doesn't. If Montoya had clearly got out ahead there then he would have been within his rights to stay ahead, maintain his line and have Raikkonen drop in behind. He wouldn't be obligated to simply let Raikkonen in. Raikkonen simply had track position there. Notice that Raikkonen did not have to cross the white line to force the issue as Hamilton did.komninosm wrote:This proves my point clearly. Even crazy Montoya had enough sense to veer to the outside line.
