Peter Whitehead?

I believe you are talking about two different Tours de France.

I remember Prost did the bike Tour, that quote clearly refers to the Tour de France Automobile (which now is a classic vehicle event).

In the mean time, as I was correct on the Eagle-Weslake, figure this one out:

After winning the two first GPs of 1979 in style, the JS11 never really found its form again for the rest of the season.
There's a wonderful legend, true or false, around this phenomenon, but how does it go? Details and people involved please.

I didn't find answer xpensive so I give up.

Only theory i have found is that they were not sure why they are fast, didn't have much money to figure out and conduct development. And while they lost pace while the championships progresses, they also didn't know why.

I have found nice scan of the article in this forum: Ligier JS11

PS. Funny cheat with movable aero is described in this article.

Legend is so out of this world Z, it got to be true. By chance they had initiallly found the perfect suspension settings for the JS11 already in Argentina, why the chain-smoking Ducarouge scribbled them down on a pack of Gitanes, which he of course forgot at the airport bar in Rio. After coming back to Europe with the now disassembled cars, they were nowhere.

Was this good enough for me to have another go?
