Well! Most impressively quick and comprehensive! I am a whisker embarrassed because I stupidly overlooked Wilson Fittipaldi and David Brabham in my list. Duh!

I was about to pass the baton when I noticed you have omitted one of the very biggest names in motor racing.

There is also one very obscure name you've missed.

Get the big name and I'll roll over and reveal the obscure one in the interest of speed and not being told off by xpensive! :D

Well done, WhiteBlue and megz in a photo finish!

Anyone know to whom the baton now passes? I'm a bit unfamiliar with the protocol.

Perhaps I'll leave it a couple of hours to see if anyone gets the obscure name and if no one has I'll share the name!

I wonder if Enzo Ferrari didn't drive his own car once or twice?

In an F1 race?

Btw, he was aged 52 when F1 started.

FYI, your German heroes of the 30s, never drove an F1 race either, shouldn't belong in an F1 quiz whatsoever.

The question was specific about F1. When we do golden age GPs we usually talk of GPs and not F1.

Geifzu did not enter a Formula One World Championship Grand Prix. Merzario was cited by Dumrik. McGuire twice entered a Formula One World Championship Grand Prix in a car bearing his name but on neither occasion did he qualify for the race. The question said (deliberately) "driven a car bearing their own surname in a World Championship Formula One Grand Prix race."
