Jean Todt - Fresh air for F1?

We use to think F1 has a lot of problems but thats not true at all. F1 has got great drivers, great cars and races (although these both can improve) and overall a great great audience and market value.

Jean biggest problems in my view are to make WRC something worthwhile and to have a decent World Sportcar Championship. FIA GT1 is a good start, but I still dream about a WSC that includes LeMans, Sebring, Daytona, Spa, Nurburgring, Monza... and why not Buenos Aires and the old A1?

Furtunately, the ACO is taking care of that need with the International Le Mans Cup, as a test bed for a real 2011 world championship.

Even if I trust Todt, the FIA has already tried to kill every series that could shadow F1 too many times to put that back in FIA's hands. The clue is to have it organized by someone who's really a stakeholder of the series success and the ACO is exactly that.

Anyone how doubts the absense of Mosleys war on manufacturers should ask themsleve why 4 new teams were pushed into F1. 1 didn't turn up and 2 are struggling. Just what we all want in F1 - uncompetitve teams.

Some think that Mosley is the greatest thing ever, fair ennough. But there is nothing that can be said that will change my opinion that he was bad for F1 and the various FIA governed sports.

I see a earlier poster subtley hinted at his wee parties. I'm not here to judge on his feish, so lets keep this aspect out of it as it is irrelvent, no matter how weird it sems to us!

The reasons for the way F1 is today is a matter of recorded history.
If people cannot be bothered to even read this history and the facts it contains, then it is pointless continualy having to put in the effort to educate such people.

F1 is the way it is due to the rules and regulations. To blame Ferrari or any other team is a cop out.

Mosley introduced the silly rules about engines lasting 4 races, aero rules that allow things like double diffusers, mickey mouse tyre rules etc etc.

I want to see proper racing with the machinery being pushed to the limit and beyond, not an economy race. F1 as become too sanitised under Mosleys regieme.

Max Mosley was NEVER in a position to decide ANY regulation by himself.
The FIA does not work in that way.
It is not Ferrari itself that has continued to destabalise F1, it is Montezemolo.
Flavio Briatore was the other cause of damage to FIs future and I believe it must be obvious by now just what a criminal he was and is. Ask the Italian revenue service. Such people have no place in F1.
Comparing such shallow short lived warped characters as these with the achievements in International mobility and motor racing of Max Mosley, is comparing ants with Einstein.

Provide some evidence of Montezemolo being sacked as I am not aware of any and Briatore being proven guilty in a court of law. The FIA had him but someone (I wonder who) messed up and he got away.

So Montezemolo gave up possibly the most important position in the European motor industry to be made a complete fool of as Ferrari declines.
Yea, that makes loadsa sense, not.


So Briatore is not a criminal,
Obviously people who believe this have never bothered to check out his history.
I will not say that such people are either daft or have vested interests but leave it for others to work out for themselves.
