I don't agree with the thread title at all, but I found it funny that there have been this type of thread since then, when most of you thought that this was a new 'trend'.

That's why few people are qualified to judge a driver. Short memories. He had two very similar drives last year. If Webber was going to be driving for Red Bull next year it would have been done and dusted well before now with the minimum of fuss.

It seems as though it's all nothing new. Around the time this thread was started Webber's reputation hinged on qualifying with Michelins.

He took quite a while to get it together but he is getting the results now. I don't think he is champion material but there have been lucky champions all through F1 history so who know? Multiple race winner, yes but champion? Only if others have really bad luck I think.

Ask yourself, is Webber more overrated than Jenson Button was (and now is 10+Xs more)?

Webber and Button both have driven a lot of crap cars. Button only starts winning consistently when he is driving a car that was far and away more dominant that the rest of the field (Braun).

Webber is in a car that is far better than the rest of the field now. And he is beating Vettel (for now anyway).

The last champion who had to drive to win (not have a better car) was Hamilton in 2008, and even that is debatable. He should have won that championship by a lot more than he did.
