Jeje, exactamente. Interesante que mencionés lo del frankie, because in the pictures i've seen it's using rear pushrod suspension, I wonder if it's just an older suspension or if it's a suspension they use for this type of thing, with more adjustability for higher ride heights and added compliance. Also one guy went as far as saying 'here's the engine it uses' and showed a pic of an old cossie. I doubt it used that v10, most likely they just carried it around for display purposes, worth mentioning though.
Oh ok thx for the clarification, they came here to Costa Rica in 07 so i thought by now the may have changed the engine on the demo car, but yeah it makes sense to go with the cossie.Belatti wrote:In the Red Bull event here in Argentina they used the V10 cossie, too. A higher torque of the V10 + cheaper older engine helps for donuts and spins and keeps costs down.alelanza wrote: Also one guy went as far as saying 'here's the engine it uses' and showed a pic of an old cossie. It's my understanding the dry sand was water sprinkled and precompacted. The wet part is already pretty sturdy on its own. The car is relatively light, and i assume with little to no ballast most of the weight is in the right place above the rear axle. What's scary to me is the part where they ran it over the actual sea water, I guess that as long as he kept up the speed along with a heavily locked diff it was ok, but still....jason.parker.86 wrote:I really do not know how that car got going... putting that amount of torque and horse power onto sand... why did it not just dig a hole?

True, though once you include central america i'm pretty sure the guatemalans and to a lesser degree us ticos would be happy to contest you guys
By the way Jacinto the owner/organizer of this DR event is a top notch guy, rarely have i met someone with so much money yet so down to earth. The fact that he's given us free VIP/paddock tickets to La Guácima events here in CR does not cloud my opinion at all

The name of the island is and has always been HAITI(Ayiti), when columbus landed on "san salvadore" and inquired about gold the natives pointed to the island and said HAITI(land of mountains).warmandog wrote:ISLAMATRON

Just for the records.
Even we share the same island with Haiti ( the poorest country in the world ) we dont share the same fate and destiny.
at dominican republic we have one of the best growing economies in the area ( we a re beautifull country ( thanks god ) we have diferent goverments, diferents cultures even our etnias are very diferent, diferents languajes and religions. as you can see in the link bellow. we are united at same country but we're not the same.

I was actually meeting you half way, but well, time to go off topic. All i'll say is that if DR racing was that strong, then maybe the reigning GT1 champion of central america and the caribbean would be a dominican, or a dominican team may have won it. Or maybe they may have been champions in 08, or 07, or........warmandog wrote:

here we could surpass 5 to 1 to each of those countries.
our racers are proven even at US circuits. we had the biggest GTS quorum to date.
right now our DTS ( dominican Touring Championship ) is at top of the art. and for sure. we have the track to serve as international venues. we have American Transam a couple of years ago.
so i my humble opinion at the area we have no competitors but mexico

Dominicans owe their freedom and any good things they have to the former slaves of Haiti that liberated the ENTIRE ISLAND from their slave owners. Your "fate & destiny" exists because they shed their blood to free your ancestors. Haitians also went to Venezualia in aid of Simon Bolivar to help liberate that country and also Columbia Mexico & Cuba.
The major religions of both countries is Catholism, please dont pretend that Haitians only practice Voodoo, and at the same time dont pretend that Dominicans dont practice Voodoo themselves... not that Catholism is any better than Voodoo.
Haiti is not the poorest country in the world... the people are poor, not the country... Haiti as a colony had a higher GDP than all 13 colonies combined in 1789 when the revolution was finally sucessful. Haiti is the only country in the world that won a war(against the French, spanish, english & dutch) but was ordered to pay reperations.
US exploitation on both sides of the island has led to widespread poverty, as well as dictatorships and corruption... the countries are mirror images of each other and their histories are intertwined.

On the other hand Jacinto raced well, though he was somewhat disheartened at the lack of competition in the gt2 category he was in, and quite rightly so.

National representation? we're not talking about the olympics here. Dominican racers and teams have taken part of the competition and they've done good, but not to the extent of saying you're head and shoulders above the rest. In the regional scheme of things, success belongs mostly to the guatemalans, then us, then you have el salvador, you guys, the trinitarians and panama on the third step down. I'm aware you guys have not focused as much on the regional championship, but as far as i recall we've always had dominicans racing and while i have the utmost respect for their efforts, they have not dominated or been particularly successful. Though Luis Mendez whom you mentioned came close thanks to hiring costarrican Milo Valverde to share his drive.warmandog wrote: and about those championchip. Dominicans as national representation. didnt take part into that serie.
You guys do have a nice racetrack. Now, that la guacima link, the thumbnail is correct but the main pic shown isn't, just in case this is la guácima:warmandog wrote: just take a look at this
