He was out of his depth and surrounded by superior drivers. Barrichello has had his chances and didn't take them.

The latest edition of the Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell reports rumours that one of the conditions of Massa's contract renewal was that he agree to be the number two driver.
Ferrari going full circle. No surprise there. Domenicali taking a leaf out of Jean Todt's book of strategies. Perhaps Alonso will get the same abuse for it as Schumacher got by his haters. But he may have to win another bunch of championships first.
Don't believe everything you read [-X
Massa is quoted as responding to the rumours: "Rubbish", while Alonso refused to comment. :-"

Alonso doesn't tend to talk about other active drivers. He rarely mentions them directly, and rarely offers even hints at who is he talking about, even when asked directly. A no comment from Alonso should in no way reflect what he may have signed.

That's how I took it, and why I included it in the quote!(little whistle head implying his lack of interest/opinion/information/other important things to occupy his mind that actually pertain to him) 8)
